Photographer's Note
At Internet I found it very difficult to find some info of this pigeon – other than as a dish in the most tasty settings
Finally I had this info (from Callie):
Wood Pigeon.
Columbia palumbus
Found over most of Europe. Columbia palumbus. Yellow ring round the eye, pink bill with white cere, dull red legs and that white patch on the side of the neck. Pinkish breast.
(Thank's Callie for the correction of specimen and charachterstica)
With the popularity of this pigeon as an important dinner ingredience it was maybe typical that it landed on the electricity cable right outside our window when we was dining – I just had to make a short pause to grab the camera for this shot
Here some tech:

I wonder how you managed to have the bird's attention for this shot!!!
Thanks for sharing!

The cock of the bird's head makes this a delightful, well composed image Jack. Great title as well. Thanks for giving me a smile... ;-)

It's not a brilliant photo Jack and you know that. But even, the look of the bird is lovely, and I think that the power of the photo, otherwise it's not a good shot.

as carper said is not a very good shot. I think you could use some lower iso settings. the digital noise is to high.

This is what I wanted to express in the discussion you started on the point system. The Idea of the photo is great. The quality is, let's admit it, less good. The note is interesting and the humourous bit makes it outstanding, just as the tilt in the pigeon's head makes the photo worth looking at. The 5 points - 7 with my smiley - show that this is one of your lesser postings. Still...they are there, and before the day is over there might be more. Lesser known members would get 0 for this shot and they would deserve more, don't you think? So, as I said, everything is relative and we should all be aware of our own reality.

Yes, technically far from your best (and shooting through the window certainly didn't boost the quality), but on the plus side there is the funny posing, the simple and nice framing, and the good notes.

A classic case of target self awareness, Jack, what was he worrying about ;-)). This pigeon has a very comic look & pose. Nice fun shot!

This is really funny Jack, did you see the one Jeppe posted a few days ago of a bird that had an angry facial expression aswell? Well I have nothing new to add, other than I like it and that I'm glad to hear that you are willing to put down knife and fork to go work for us at TE ;o)

All this needed was some fill flash!

Oh lovely and funny pose you captured here - and I agree with your title as well :-) I got a feeling birds can't tell the difference between a gun and a camera. I having problems getting close enough ;-)
Thanks Jack.
