Photographer's Note
During the 60ties and the 70ties there were built quite a few smaller hydro-electric power plants in Norway. The reservoir we see here is a part of one of them, and this picture is taken from on top of the dam itself. The time here was early summer, and we can see the filling degree is low due to higher use of energy during the winter that is just over…
Today the resistance to this kind of development is a lot more conscious, also in political circles. That is in my opinion a good thing since this is irreversible; once built the dams cannot be removed without even more damage to nature…
(the actual dam here is shown in my earlier posting “The Dam”)

Very nice reflections in the water here. The lake really looks like a mirror. Excellent contrast and colours.
Well done!

hello Pablo,
I have been following your documentary on 'the Dam'.
Excellent series.
I love the serenity of this image, even thought it is artificial in its setting, the water and the surrounding landscape (what we can see here) is very beautiful and calm.
Good composition. Great POV.

Hi Pablo,
I really like the way you've framed the shot to focus on the beautiful reflection, the simplicity is lovely. I agree with you about dams, although I guess hydro-electric power is better than coal or oil based electricity, I wonder what are the side effects of solar and wind power?
I can't believe I missed your 100th post since I had been watching for it; my grand-daughter was visiting and I was having too much fun is my only excuse.

What a quiet feeling of summer in this shot... it makes me want to jump in for a swim... :D I really enjoy how you have used the tree on the right to frame the shot and justify the wide open water.
The colours of the trees are wonderfully deep, but somehow we lack sharpness or detail, almost as if some information was lost along the way. What program do you use to treat your pictures before the upload?
TFS this smooth and welcoming scene!

Hi Pablo!
A nice "old" fuji pic of a nice "old" "geological formation". A remarkable right corner reflection of an unseen pine makes it full of gosts from old Scandinavian legends...
Good luck!

Hi Pablo,
Beautiful soft warm wilderness colors and rich details to this rocky banked lake which shows itself not to be a natural lake.

Olá Pablo, interesting note about the impact of the dams and political consciousness - I think that the money still counts too much...
Anyway, I like very much the emptyness that the reflection of the sky in foreground gives to this image. It almost gives me a vertigo feeling and I love that. The contrast with the greenery and its reflections is very effective. Nice inclusion of the reflected pinetree at right.
Greetings,
ricardo

Hei Pablo,
I continue to explore your series on hydro-electric power plants. This place looks surprisingly beautiful taken into account that is an artificial dam and I notice that some people talk about wilderness and wonderful landscape. This perhaps not what you have tried to show as Nevertheless, I think your composition here is very creative and unsual and works very well. Have a nice week end
Cheers,
Ulf

Hi Pablo
Wonderful reflections in the water, & good to exclude the sky for a change, to emphasise them. Perhaps I'd add a little yellow to the upper third of the image? Superb sharpness & light contrasts. Tfs, & have a great weekend!

- Good mirror effect on this lake, the big part for the water is a undeniable more, i like the tree in the mirror, invisible in the other part, any case, well done!
All the best.
