I was actually wondering when you would show us some black faces from the mine... =)
Gunnar wrote what I was also thinking - the coal dust has penetrated his pores so deeply it almost looks impossible he will be able to wash it out...
his eyes make this portrait an unusual one - there's something oddly expressionistic in his look, like a portrait from the '20s/'30s...
great skin detail, it adds value to the shot because it gives the image a tactile quality.
