Photographer's Note
I thought I will use the name of this place as a title. You see here exactly what it says. The building on the left is the palace in the town of Monte. The place is more popular due to the tropical garden rather than the palace. It is a very attractive garden arranged on a relatively steep hill. Monte is located just uphill from Funchal, the main town on Madeira and it is often covered in clouds. When we arrived there it was raining. It added an incredible ambiance to the place. It felt like a proper rain forest. Unfortunately the rain didn't help in taking photos. We continued our walk in spite of the rain but we decided to skip the visit to the beautiful church next to the garden which has a lovely architecture and a stunning view from its terrace. The weather was getting worse. In spite of the rubbish weather we did our best to have fun. On that day we arranged a Spa treatment for my wife and daughter, which they enjoyed very much.
I see two photos uploaded by me on the same TrekEarth page. They are separated by 13 photos only. I don't think I have seen so few people active on the site before...

Hello Mariusz, the palace reminds me of a doll's house!
This is a lovely point of view, as the palace is surrounded by the lush greenery of such a variety of plants and trees.
Kind regards, Jean.

Ciao Mariusz,The garden is certainly very attractive, the climate of this island certainly helps a correct development of this copy of a tropical forest. However, the palace also has its charm with this original and unique architecture. In fact there are few people on the site lately, certainly the lack of something new to show has affected. Then every now and then someone disappears without leaving any news, the last one is the historian John, and you never know what to think considering the advanced age ... Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Beautifuil palace with the natural forest surrounding, Mariusz.
Reminded me on one palace we saw in Sintra, Portugal, also we had a view through mini-forest, but under rain.
Despite grey sky, as we see on the upper-left corner, a fine outcome in vivid colorful picture display.
Have a nice frday,
Ike

Hello Mariusz,
Despite the wet weather, because you have excluded the sky, the vegetation looks bright and luscious.
The f/g tree and the b/g palace are very nicely linked on a diagonal, with hints of deep red between.
It's a lovely photograph, where you have overcome the problems.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz,
Wonderful roof decorations of the palace.
It seems as the palace has been built in the middle of a rainforest.
The composition and framing are excellent.
I admire that you are particularly good at taking masterful photos in rainy weather.
Wasn't your daughter a little sorry that it wasn't ice cream weather during the holiday?
Best regards, Paul

a marvelous view of the garden with the palace in evidence.I liked the giant ferns, they are wild few km at south of my town. I even can see a ju鏰ra palm tree, whose images I ever post in my gallery.
yes, people are losing interest in such pages of photos, what is a pity, for another side the rules here are some hard. anyway, I am like the musicians of Titanic, I guess I will play until the end.. hahaha.
take care

Hello Mariusz,
The stately house looks beautiful with a great pattern on its roof. It is very nicely surrounded by the many different trees in mainly green but also some reddish colours. Well done.

Hi Mariusz
A good photo of the palace in generous gardens although it almost looks like an elaborate doll's house.

Hi Mariusz
I like Ian's comment that it almost looks like a Doll house.
SO what is the Palace used for today? do people still live here? are there tours? or is it owned by the government now.
Just imagine the luxury and amount of wealth to build such a place years ago. lovely shot with the tree on the right, and we really do get the sense of being in a tropical rain forest.
Sad about the lack of active TE members. cheers

Hello Mariusz
The treeferns give this location an attractive forest setting. Good sharpness and a pleasant diffused light with no oe in the highlights. Tfs!
