The green island, a photo from Madeira, Islands

Photographer's Note

Madeira's been on my wish list since ... forever, before I visited it in the spring of 2014. It's a strange island, green and lush, but not quite tropical, in Europe, but not quite, Portuguese, but something more. A rock in the ocean, full of green gardens, and is it turns out nice people.

This photo is from Sao Vicente on the northern side of the island, perhaps not the best from Madeira, but it represents the island well I think. Rugged mountains falling into the raging ocean before. Sao Vicente is gorgeous, but I definitely would not recommend it for swimming. :)

Hello Miha,
The huge rock rising above the village looks impressive ... but it's green colour is very striking.
Also the black beach is so remarkable and in a strong contrast with the foam of the waves.

Hello Miha ,
After a dry winter , the green cliffs are covered by green grass . And here , this greenery is increased by the overcast weather . So , despite of the quite poor light , I like this view , with the superb curve of the volcanic dark sandy beach in the Fg.
I love Madeira , too , even if i think that there is too much concrete in some parts of the island . But that is the economic progress ...

Dragi Miha,

i meni je zadovoljstvo da te ponovo sretnem i to na obali Madeire. Pregledaću malo pa瀕jivije tvoje ostale fotke, a večeras sam ponovo zastao nad motivom iz Bohinja koji si uhvatio pod mostom. Tamo je pruska plava fantastična i čini paletu jako zavodljivom. Tu vidim sliku na platnu već ponuđenu.

Hello Miha,
What an impressive and huge cliff here, which looks even more interesting due to its green cover. The houses in front of it add a great sense of scale too. Good composition and the cloudy day produces a fine mood.

I have to be honest....i know NOTHING about this island, but because you have posted this, it certainly makes me curious.

looks like something we'd see from Norther Norway in the summertime.

very rugged terrain, yet lush with greenery.
