High in the mountains, a photo from Viana do Castelo, North

North of Soajo, high in the mountains of Parque Nacional Peneda-Geres, I found this ruined mill. There were no information signs and I haven't been able to find anything on the internet, sorry. But I really enjoyed this isolated location, there was no one else around. I stayed there for nearly an hour, eating my lunch and watching eagles dance in the sky, it was very peaceful.

The Vila of Soajo is located inside the boundaries of Portugal's only national park (Parque Nacional Peneda-Geres), in the mountains of the Serra de Soajo 1,416m. The Park has an area of 702.90 km�, 52.75 km� of which is public property, 194.38 km� is private property, and the remaining 455.77 km� are commons. Jurisdictionally, Soajo belongs to the County of Arcos de Valdevez, approximately 20km to the West, and to the District of Viana do Castelo, which is 60km to the West. The City of Viana do Castelo, the capital of the district, is Portugal's northern-most port city the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Soajo is located in the Viana district's mountainous area of Alto Minho. Bordering Soajo to East is the Ourense, Galicia (Spain) district. Soajo is one of the main points of entry into Portugal, separated by the River Castro Laboreiro.

Hello Chris ,
Wow ! What an impressive shot ! It seems like in 3D . The composition is so superbly balanced , with the old stoned tower in the right , and the yellow bush in the left . The clarity is splendid , and the oustanding sky is an important bonus for the picture .

This ruined mill makes a great subject especially when backed by that lovely sky. You have composed the shot well, making good use of the slightly upwards point of view. Very good natural colours and excellent sharpness.

The yellow flowers and the sheep clouds to the sky are attractive..
