The Castle of the Moors (Portuguese: Castelo dos Mouros) is located in the town of Sintra, Portugal. The castle is located on a high hill overlooking the town, being one of its most important tourist attractions. It is part of the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

As implied by its name, the castle is of Moorish origin, but the current building is the result of a romantic renovation carried out in the 19th century. The views from its walls and towers are breathtaking. The town of Sintra with its royal palace, as well as the Pena National Palace are all visible from the Castle of the Moors

Sintra is both a town and a municipality in Portugal, located in the Grande Lisboa subregion and the Lisbon Region. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on account of its 19th century Romantic architecture.

The town of Sintra refuses to be promoted to City Status, despite being the center of the second most populated municipality of Portugal.

Sintra has become a major tourist attraction, with many day-trippers visiting from nearby Lisbon. Attractions include the fabulous Pena Palace (19th c.) and the Castelo dos Mouros (reconstructed 19th c.) with a breath-taking view of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, and the summer residence of the kings of Portugal Pal醕io Nacional de Sintra (largely 15th/16th c.), in the town itself. The Sintra Mountain Range, one of the largest parks in the Lisbon area, (Serra de Sintra) is also a major tourist attraction.

In 1809 Lord Byron wrote to his friend Francis Hodgson, "I must just observe that the village of Cintra in Estremadura is the most beautiful in the world."

A POV well selected and especially an excellen t framing. The composition is well balalnced with the castel in the FG on the right and landsacpe on the left. Great depht of field and many various details well selected. Good photowork.

H� pouco estive neste Castelo, por isso mesmo em breve vai sair um poste meu :)
Este POV � talvez dos mais vistos mas tamb閙 o mais interessante por isso nada a dizer. As cores e profundidade de camp ficaram muito bem.
