Photographer's Note
Maybe my friend and TE member Peter Boehringer shouldn't have fed my ego so much in his post of the American cousin of this tree, as I have a fascination for this kind of tree and a bunch of photos featuring them and now I got an even stronger motivation for posting some of them, risking to become the guy of those boring strange twisted trees. :D
I would prefer posting one with the whole tree, but I am too tired to select and prepare another one and this one was already on post queue.
This is one of the rare ocasions that I login into TE practically only to post a photo, but I am quite uninspired today for writing critiques and I only hope you forgive me this time.
Not counting the landscapes where they appear also, this is my fifth post of a cork oak and the second of this particular tree. You can see the others posts on this theme of mine. On the this other post you can find more detailed notes on the tree and its economic importance.
Shot on a cold sunny day near Pé da Serra, a village of the concelho (county?) of Nisa.

Hi Jose,
nice photo, interesting tree. I like trees and I look on trees as living entities, how they are nice. May be the mankind understand now or in near future we only hurt this beings and nothing give them, if and until will live the trees we will live, not smoke-stacks or exhaust-pipes. Don´t worry,Jose, about people who love money and hate nature and people.
Best wishes
Stano

Hi Jose,
It's such an interesting tree... Looks almost man-made as the trunk not matching in texture and color with the rest of the brunches...

Hi Jose, nice to see some continuity here on the oak tree theme :-)
In my city we also have cork oaks but only for esthetic reasons. No one ever bothered to harvest the cork. So, your post is actually an educational for me. I never saw a nude tree before ... The light on the leaves and trunk is very warm.

Os contrastes de cor e de luz são o ponto alto dessa foto, José, além do recorte dado por vc e das formas irregulares da árvore. Bom trabalho, amigo! Abraço! Miguel.

Great colours José, and you have captured the features and textures of the tree well (it's not a tree I am familiar with where I live!)

Olá José,
nice colors on this part of the tree. You managed to get the depth by an impression of light and shadow on the leaves.
Cheers, Ulf

Hi Jose - nioce mix of red and blue, from this perspective, the colours are actually equally "Australian outback" as they are Californian or alentejan.

Hi Jose,
the red of that tree where it sharply meets the blue sky is just amazing .. love the beautiful light ... what stories this tree could tell ..

Very sharp photo with good color. Never seen a tree like that here in Kentucky. Sun brings out all the detail in the photo. Well done.

Ola Jose!
