Photographer's Note

Despite its location less than 200 meters from my home during my teenage years, I know very little about this chapel and I have never went inside it, namely because I don't remember having seen it open. I was always a bit intrigued how it managed to stay in a relatively good shape while no body seemed to care for it. Like much of the old parts of Portalegre, this area was recently renovated. In "my time" there was a scarp instead of that stone wall and the painting of the church wasn't in such a good shape.

I guess that is another construction of the 18th century which are found in every place where Portuguese were at the time, from Brazil to Goa. It's called Capela do Calv醨io (Calvary Chapel).

WS: Another POV, about 90 degrees to the left.
