Photographer's Note
This last weekend I went walking in my beloved Alentejo countryside. I wasn't that lucky photo wise, but nevertheless I hope you may find some interest in this one.
These are two almost dry cork oaks, a rather common tree in the South of Portugal. In this earlier post of mine you'll find an extensive note on the place and on the tree. The style of that post is quite similar to this one. I have another more recent post with the same theme.

Update 16-Dec: after reading the critiques, specially one from 'sarahnatalie', I looked again to the original and I begin doubting that this version is nicer than it, so I posted a WS with another version that is practically equal to the original.

It looks like a big nest is right in the midst of the branches. Excellent capture of this odd looking tree. I like the color of the sky and the darkened tree is almost a silhouette against the blue. Good composition and definition. Nice work Jose.

Hi Jose,
Nice capture of this tree. The low clouds give it just a bit more and your excellent note makes it perfect.

Hello Jose
This shout looks interesting. The colour of clouds indicate that shot was taken in morning.
IMHO you could get this photo better with slightest different POV. I think that if you move your point of view and include more of clouds

Hi Jose, Excellent looking photo it is such a beautiful tree against a beautiful sky, good detail sharpnes and exposure, as normal for you.
Is it a nest in the tree? or just the way the branches are?.

Hi Jose,
These are really interesting trees. I like your composition where you have included a little bit of clouds at the bottom. Blue sky makes a nice background.

Bonjour José ,
Un "chêne-liège" ? bien sûr , nous sommes au Portugal !
Cette belle photo est un peu triste , cet arbre est-il victime de la sécheresse ? Silhouette maigre ,et jeunes branches pour garder l'espoir !
Amicalement ,
parbo

Hi Jose,
I really like this one, but I think it might be better if you had included more of the tree (another POV perhaps) and more of the clouds. Nevertheless, the image is very sharp and the photo is very nice. I have bever seen a cork oak before. Thanks!

Hi Jose - the shape of the tree is very interesting, simple but effective, there is a strange "softness" around the edges of the tree.

José,
sempre fico tentado a captar fotos como essa, em que uma linda árvore cotrasta fortemente com um bonito céu. Acho que nunca tive a sorte ou a competência de um resultado como o seu.
Tá linda.
