Photographer's Note

Sunset at one of the most beautiful beaches of Portugal, the small Praia da Adraga. it's located near the village of Almo鏰geme, some Kms away from Colares and the wonderful romantic town of Sintra.

I owe this one to TE, as probably I wouldn't had brought the camera with me on that working day if I wasn't infected with the TE bug. I ended what I had to do in Sintra surprisingly early, so I found myself with a couple of hours of light on a scenic area. I ended up on this beach. The "hunt" wasn't very abundant, but I hope this one is worth something.

Hi Jose!
Great light, Jose. Your hunt may not have been abundant but I assure you that this one shot made it worthwhile. It's a lovely shot. The silhouette of the rocky coast, the texture of the waves crashing on the shore and that of the wet sand, the moody color, they all contribute to a very nice composition. The contrast seems a bit too soft IMHO for this particular shot but this is a minor point.

Hi Jose, I think this is most beautiful, what a lovely action beach with that realy big waves rolling in! you lucky man! I would love to have been there with my camera.

What an inspiring image, the setting sun and waves washing the shore create so many memories in the viewers eye as they remember the summer and the memories made. The glow of light is superb for capturing the warmth of the end of a day. bye

the captured mood is very pleasant. I like it a lot. Thanks for the nice composition with the rocks left and the waves on which I can count each drop of water. The evening light is what it makes lovely, knowing that the sunset is anywhere at right.

Y no es cuestion de cantidad, sino de calidad, y los colores que capturaste en esta foto son espectaculares! Esas tonalidades naranjas, rojizas, con un toque de rosa, es fabulosa!
Lo bueno es que no estabas enfocando directamente al sol, asi que se puede apreciar aun mas toda esa gama de colores.

It's not just the sunset colours on this that are stunning but the way the light is catching the crashing waves is wonderful. The rock stack in the middle is a perfect addition to the scene. How fortunate you had your camera with you

Stunning colours, beautiful agitated sea. The compostion is excellent with the rock in the sea facing the cliff. We almost can imagine the shapes of monsters talking to ech other.

There's a reason this has received 88 points and counting! This is a magnificent shot Jose. The colors are wonderful. The moment that you captured the waves is perfect--any later and they would have crashed and lost their power. There seems to be a bit of haze in the picture, but otherwise it's a superb shot. Well done!

Really miss this beautiful sunset, taken from the beach has give a romantic athmosphere. I like the orange tones created from the last rays of the sun light, the colours so contrast against the shadows. One of your best, Jose. tfs
