Photographer's Note
This particular ride in the Children's "City" park caught my eye as it had such a funny face. It is in fact a sort of monorail car high on the electrified rail at some 4 meters above the ground in some places. Not quite a montagne russe, the children seem to enjoy the looks of the grumpy plane that still has a few low-slow and high-and-fast portions on its track.
About that face.. I recall a very old French black and white film I once skipped through, one naughty brat called another "face d'avion". I only came to realize today it could be "a thing".
The camera is a versatile but hard to control Nikon P500 bridge. I like its zoom range and the colors -usually they shine but it was a really overcast day- the blue you see on the sky is in fact a(nother) storm cloud. The P 500 is a rather nice travel camera, if a little outdated and a bit large , and the somewhat atypically placed controls in manual mode are a little bit hard to get used to.
So my dear French speaking friends, is "face d'avion" still a thing? What did it really mean? I don't know that yet but here is mine...:) Thank you.
