Photographer's Note
The entrance to a popular children's park in Bucharest (Children's Town or Oraselul Copiilor in original) has been redecorated more than 10 years ago. A very large fun park dating from communist times, this Children's Town is very close to yet another commie marvel : Youth Park (see the very imaginative naming convention typical of the times). No, no fancy castles or dragons back then, I remember a wrought iron gate and rather industrial looking fence- but visiting the area for the fist time in more than 25 years I was surprised. All was modernized and now...there be dragons!
Technical note: this is another test shot from the diminutive Canon M50. A relatively obscure model here in Romania, but asking around I found a lot of people had it and were pretty happy about how it works, less so about how fast it eats through batteries. The out-of camera colors are always pleasant but in this particular case a bit of Darkroom magic was necessary as the day was quite hazy and drab- yes, it was August, and it was supposed to be sunny and..well let's just say colors are a bit more lifelike after this light correction. I recommend darkroom- a free software that is a bit like Lightroom but better, and works on any platform, mac, pc, linux/windows etc.
