Photographer's Note
In Rom鈔ia there is a beautiful mountain resort called Predeal. One of its suburbs is situated at 1500 m from the sea level (check your barometers there, usually you get 890-900 hPa normally). This particular hotel sits at exactly 1495,8 m high on a mountain top according to my gps and just a few meters away from a vista point (belvedere, zoom lens test spot, nice cliff faces visible at 20 km) and from the somewhat renowned "Cioplea" cabin. The hotel recently got restored- and now everyone can enjoy one of the oldest hotels at that altitude to feature coal-based central heating(!). Each storey has its own terrace and the view is terrific. In the L8s(late eighties or laighties) when I was a kid (both younger and wiser, according to my friends),the school organized camping trips and some 100 children would fill this hotel to the brim. Nice memories, and a lot of tricks like passing stuff between floors and friends using bits of string and whatnot, and the paper airplane competition- from the last storey we would launch our craft and the winner was awarded the prize for the longest glide - a whole pack of chocolate cream biscuits, a rare commodity in communist days.
