Church of Saint Anthony

Another church, but this time not a fortified one. This church is located in the Old Town of Bucharest and is part of the Old Princely Court (Curtea Veche). It is called the Church of Saint Anthony (Biserica Sf鈔tul Anton) and was built in 1559 and is regarded as the oldest religious building in Bucharest.

Looking at the masons work on this church, Lars, must admit that years ago designers had better and more beautiful concept of architecture's design.
Wonderful picture outcome, the charming garden added viviness to the photo.

curiously today is saint Anthony day of Lisbon-padova, but I guess this anthony is another saint, orthodox instead. the church has some details as the classic style of the greek churches, but these details and patterns around are marvelous. excellent image.

Fin kyrka med en alldeles s鋜skilt fint dekorerad fasad. Det var bra att du kunde f� med det frist錯nde klocktornet och s� mycket av tr鋎g錼den i vad jag uppfattar som ett ganska tr錸gt utrymme. Ljuset faller bra p� de allra flesta ytorna, s� du valde r鋞t tid. Som vanligt mycket bra exponering och f鋜ger.

Nice to see this in Spring. Usually I would enter Romania in November and depart in January. The greenery and red flowers look nice. If couldn't get a bed and breakfast right in the old town, I would stay in the large hotel on the corner just across the road from this basilica. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hello Lars, beautiful church in the typical Romanian style. Interesting pattern on the walls. Nice dome. I would be tempted to straighten the bell tower. Lovely holiday atmosphere. Great colors.

Hi Lars,
Your photos from Romania demonstrate well how the church architecture there is quite original and variable. Brick red and cream patterns of the walls are special. And that almost round tower is impressive.

Hi Lars,
Beautiful picture from Bucarest. I have to admit that I don't remember anything from this town. Your reportage certainly puts it on my map. The light was fantastic here. The part in the left was covered with the dark shade already but the main building is all well lit by the warm sunshine.
