Photographer's Note
Hidden behind the wall of the Carpathian Mountains, the province of Maramures has preserved a traditional way of life. Every village has its own costumes and customs. Sunday is the best time to visit, when village folks don their colourful outfits and stroll up and down the main street for their own enjoyment. On a bench in front of their house, this family in the village of Ieud is watching the parade.
P.S. For photographing people on a bright sunny day, the best way to get faces is in the shade.
