Photographer's Note
I took this shot near Marasesti passageway (Pasajul Marasesti), not far from Unirii square (Piata Unirii) in the center of Bucharest. Walking through this area of the city, which feels like a world of cranes and concrete apartment buildings, I found this delightfully mantained Russian communist memorabilia. If I'm not wrong, it is a Russian made car, the Volga 21, produced in the 50s and 60s. I also liked the matching licence plate. From this point of view, the car seems to be a nostalgic monument to the past, set against the bleak reality of the present.
The picture was taken with my digital camera and edited in Photoshop (resized, cropped, sepia tone, sharpened, frame, saved for web)

very nice shot Michael, nicely composed with this Volga car and buildings in the backgrond, very original, nice B&W too, no complaits here, very good work

Tremendous shot, Mike, the best car shot I've seen here on TE although the topic is not the CAR (this is perhaps why I like this one very much).
Your tones are spot on, Ceaucescu would rise from his tomb...

It's interesting how your pictures are getting beter with each posting, even though you took them 2 years ago. This one is really good, and although the note explains your thinking, the composition is a clear expression.

Very good shot Michael. I agree, it seems to be a nostalgic monument to the past. I like your POV here, as well as the tight crop around the car. Very well spoted on, the matching plate is also a nice add. I also have to say that your PP is very clean and efficient. Good contrast and large range of tones, that's excellent. A very well composed and very nice catch Michael, congratulations!

The highlights on this car are really great, I like the way you switched to BW. The composition is interesting, it seems the car is watching the building process since years. Pts later
