Photographer's Note
The White Clock Tower is one of the most impressive visual symbols of the city of Novi Sad and the Petrovaradin Fortress. The Baroque tower contains black dials on all four sides. The numbers on the dials are Roman, and their diameter is more than 2 meters. The interesting thing about this watch is that the big hand shows the hours, and the small one shows the minutes, so that the boatmen on the Danube can see what time it is from a great distance from the shore. Also, time was important for the soldiers, for the shifts of the guards at the Fortress, who changed by the hour, not by the minute. Some also call it a "drunk hour" because it is late when it is cold, and it is in a hurry when the temperatures are very high.
