Reflections in Alcudia beach, a photo from Mallorca, Balearics

Photographer's Note

Located in Port d'Alc鷇ia in Mallorca, has over 7 km. Long with fine white sand. This is the largest beach on the Balearic Islands stretching along the Badia d'Alc鷇ia. The sand by the Romans who walked their robes and the sea where galleys anchored vandals. Instead we now find a range of leisure facilities in the water (windsurfing, water slides, bananas, ski-ride, catamarans, sailboats, pedal boats, ...) and on the beach where there are several bars, showers and public toilets, rent sunbeds, parasols, pedal boats ... This is the beach of the larger, more accessible, more leisure activities and also the safest municipality of Alc鷇ia, because its waters come calm at the edge and you have to venture into the sea to leave of foothold.

We can divide this beach in the town of Alcudia in two tranches: the first begins next to the marina. It is equipped with a pleasant pedestrian walk several kilometers to the area called White City. That's where most of leisure is concentrated. The other section starts in the White City and reaches the limit of the Platja de Muro. Here the environment is slightly more virgin. There is a standard environment that mix with those swimmers who want something more quiet. Services hammocks and parasols are also available in this section.

Situada en el Port d'Alc鷇ia en Mallorca, tiene m醩 de 7 Km. de largo de arena blanca y fina. 蓅ta es la mayor playa de las Illes Balears, delimitando el borde de la Badia d'Alc鷇ia. La misma arena por la que pasearon los romanos sus togas y las mismas aguas donde los v醤dalos fondeaban las galeras. En su lugar ahora encontramos toda una serie de instalaciones de ocio tanto en el agua (windsurf, toboganes, bananas, ski-ride, catamaranes, veleros, velomares,�) como sobre la arena donde encontramos varios chiringuitos, duchas y ba駉s p鷅licos, alquiler de hamacas, sombrillas, velomares� Se trata de la playa del municipio de Alc鷇ia m醩 grande, m醩 accesible, con mayor oferta l鷇ica y tambi閚 la m醩 segura, ya que sus aguas llegan calmas a la orilla y hay que adentrarse en el mar para dejar de hacer pie.

Podemos dividir esta playa dentro del t閞mino municipal de Alc鷇ia en dos tramos: el primero comienza junto al puerto deportivo. Est� dotado de un agradable paseo peatonal de varios kil髆etros hasta la zona llamada Ciudad Blanca. Ah� es donde se concentra la mayor parte de oferta de ocio. El otro tramo comienza en la Ciudad Blanca y llega hasta el l韒ite de la Platja de Muro. Aqu� el entorno es ligeramente m醩 virgen. Hay un ambiente de habituales que se mezclan con aquellos ba駃stas que buscan algo m醩 de tranquilidad. Los servicios de hamacas y sombrillas tambi閚 est醤 disponibles en este tramo.

Great shot, the rippled water sheen is a real plus point and proves to be a winner enriching the whole scene of the beach resort in midst of soft warm light. Good capture making the best of the lighting condition. Congrats

The bay looks as a wonderful resort area, calm water and fine beach. The row of palm trees acros the pic. space are wonderfully affect the scene.
Water is amazingly halved by two different texture's, well collected.

Hello Luis,
Beautiful view across the water towards the many palm trees of different sizes. Their reflections in the calm water are really beautiful too. I like the effect that is created by the vertical trees in the horizontal waves.

Hello Luis,
I am not familiar with the beaches of Mallorca, but from this distance I would have imagined this to be from somewhere much further south. It's a very idyllic view with all the palms and I like the fine reflections in the nearer part of the water, which has a distinctly different character further away. The sky has lovely tones of blue .

Despite the picture is rather statically, I like it, because there is a tension in the composition between the long horizontal lines and the short vertical lines of the palm trees.
The partition of the horizontal layer is well chosen.

it seems Mallorca has something for everyone. This is a very good news. I did plan road trip through Croatia for this year but I am more and more afraid that it may be too ambitious for my little daughter. I think Mallorca could be a far better option for a child...
Very original presentation of the beach. Nice compo with several vertical layers here. The palm trees silhouettes decorate the scenery beautifully.
