Photographer's Note
Córdoba - In ‘La Juderia’
While sometimes TE members are struggling to get some people on their pictures, this time I had no idea how I could avoid them
La Juderia is Córdoba’s old Jewish quarter and an amazing network of lanes, patios and little gardens with fountains. It’s really very beautiful to see. However, this part of town is highly commercialized resulting in a lot of visitors.
The picture in the workshop is almost an exception with no one who has suddenly jumped in front of the camera. Only a group of tourists a few meters further. I know, if I want to travel I have to accept that the rest of mankind also travels.
The only thing I could do was pointing my camera above all heads and then just have a higher portion of the labyrinth of streets. Well, I think the result is also a bit maze-like.
From Wikipedia (Spanish page):
The Jewish Quarter in Córdoba is built between the 10th and 15th century. This was the neighbourhood where Jews lived. It is located northwest of the Mezquita Catedral.
La Juderia is part of the historic center and one of the most visited areas by tourists in this ‘City of Three Cultures’. In 1994 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Hello Paul,
I see that you succeeded in avoiding people in this picture :). Sometimes the people are important part of the composition, sometimes it is better without them, specially when there are herds of tourists in groups. What a busy composition, so many elements in a small picture. I like this colourful roof. Excellent picture.
I suppose that I will not see many tourists (if any) in my trip that starts this evening. I am very excited.

I like the Workshop picture too, nice umbrellas and here the people not disturb too much.

Dag Paul,
Ik kijk steeds on TE beta.
Heel mooi Paul, pracht werk, heerlijke fotografie.
Bedankt.
Prettig en zonnig weekend,
John.

Good morning Paul,
You show the "Juderia" with a cheerful set of colors, contrast to what I remember from our visit in 06-1998 in Cordoba - I mostly saw white alleys with small shops, flower-pots decorating, not much more but a 40C temp.s'. Yet, here it looks a lot different, with vivid colors and more adorned shops. I assume tourism is greater nowadays over there, made the place flourish and that's a good bonus for photographers.
Real pleasure to look at this photo.
Enjoy your weekend,
Ike

Bonjour Paul,
Bon samedi

Hi, Paul,
Good piece of Cordoba. Fine details of the famous Spanish city. Unfortunately, no time to visit the South.
Thanks for visit and comment of my latest post. Yep, we have the green hills in the summertime. But I also was surprised with this red color of soil in this region.
Best!

Dag Paul,

Uff, I feel dizzy of so many colors, shapes and details, a corner in this Jewish Quarter with so many details, signs, lamps and colored elements, you could not resist to take a photo, very well observed and captured

Hallo Paul,

Hello Paul.
Really sensational, it closed this plane, on a lot of elements of this Cordoba street, much to dwell on this beautiful image.
Very good brightness and sharpness, with beautiful colors.
Well seen and done better. I like it.
Have a nice day.
Best wishes.

Hello Paul
Busy, vibrant, colourful. I like the use of the long end of your zoom to compress the perspective.
