Photographer's Note

A Chipude , petit village de montagne situ� � plus de 1000 m鑤res d'altitude , la pluie n'est pas rare durant la saison hivernale , et les nuits peuvent 阾re bien froides . C'est pourtant dans l'h魌el de localit� que nous s閖ournons toujours � la Gomera (il est centr� , accueillant , et bien 閘oign� de l'image qu'on se fait des usines � touristes des Canaries). Et il suffit bien souvent de descendre vers les zones c魌i鑢es du sud de l'頻e pour retrouver le soleil et la chaleur .

Un matin pluvieux donc , mais de furtifs rayons de soleil pour illuminer les murs blanc de la jolie 間lise Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria .

Superbement r閡ssi quelle doubel et la d閒oramtion eotu en blanc et aussi les arbres fantastique compo.
La hoto a 閠� prise sur la route menant � Arolla aprs� le pont la remi鑢e grande mont閑 l'ar鑝e se situe � la sortie c魌� Arolla elle a 閠� inaugur閑 l'閠� 2016.

This image made me feel all sentimental as I also visited La Gomera in February (12 years ago) and this is how I remember it - lots of rain!
Your photo looks almost monochrome if not for the red roof. The reflection makes it special.

Bonjour Denis,

This is one of those shots that you know it is perfect before you check it in the camera!
It is just about as perfect as a shot can be in terms of composition, clarity and hues; in fact, I registered it as monochrome initially!
To my eyes, it is utterly beautiful and has to go in my favourites folder.

Hello Denis,
Unusual to see a black and white image in your gallery, but it suits this composition perfectly, emphasising the strong graphical lines. An image that shows that shows quite clearly that it is possible to take successful photos on a rainy day. Bravo!

Bonjour Denis,

Les contrastes sont tellement forts qu'on pourrait presque croire que c'est une photo en noir et blanc. Seul le toit offre une certaine couleur.C'est comme si il y avait un miroir parfait au sol.

A bit different from your usual pictures - but no-less beautiful composition.
It was almost deceiving me to think it was a B&W shot, but looking carefully I must admit you collected a marvelous sight, grey sky and white edifice with palm-trees on sides - all reflected wonderfully on the wet floor in the FG (or it may be a pond?).

Bonsoir Denis, with subdued colors but dramatic lighting this is a superb shot, a veritable classic. The minimalistic composition allows the viewer to focus on shapes.

What a fabulous reflection. The white house and palm tree are great subjects, and I couldn't even tell that this was a color photo until I clicked on the thumbnail. The monochrome tones are very attractive, and in this case a dark, moody sky was perfect.

this picture looked so elegant even in a thumbnail format, it looks marvellous in the large view, which also gives the observer a great surprise regarding the colours. A magnificent picture of architecture and reflections, you made the most of the setting, the grey sky and the light. in fact it hardly even looks real. the reflections are out of this world to be honest. love the white/grey tones, it almost comes across as a black and white image. One of my favs or yours. wonderful. cheers
