There are many stone lions in Plaza de la Catedral of Avila. Most of them lie on poles, but these unluckier ones are encrusted in the post office walls.

Hello Jos�,

A sharp and well conceived depiction of the architectural ornamentation. The metal lion heads stand in sharp contrast against the monochromatic background, they also serve as a pair of focal points as one might use in constructing ellipses.

Isto � verdadeiramente original e muito, mas muito, mais bonitos do que as habituais ranhuras na chapa vermelha. Era uma boa ideia a sugerir aos CTT!
E estes n鉶 s鉶 de pedra. S鉶 muito mais s髄idos!!!
Tens aqui uma nitidez excelente, tanto nos le鮡s como na pedra adjacente. Muito interessante este "post".

Jose,
a clear and almost macro shot of something simple as mailbox. The simplicity of the frame with the grainy texture of the stone is wonderful. The minimal light on each lionshead is the exact amount necessary to turn give all the platicity of these heads.

Hello Jose,
This mail box is mysterious with space for insert letters hidden inside the mounth of lions, faces of lions are looking fierce, good clouse up to the artistic mail box, distinct image, good shoot.

this frightens me, would never put a letter inside :-)
I like the good textures on the wall and contrasts on the lion's heads. But both look so angry.. Letters must be a bad thing there..

you made a great shot out of something so simple! I love the colors and the composition. Sharpness is as usual excellent. Man, we should have these mailboxes at home, maybe that detains the mailman to throw advertisments in the mailbox ;-) Nice shot!

J'aime beaucoup cette photo, et je m'empresse de l'ajouter � mon th鑝e de groupe" Letter boxes"; j'esp鑢e que tu n'y vois pas d'inconv閚ients! Je ne sais pas si ces lions sont trop malheureux. C'est vrai que les autres de la place de la cath閐rale ont plus de prestige, mais apr鑣 tout, ceux-ci re鏾ivent � manger r間uli鑢ement, toutes sortes de "Nourritures Terrestres", s鹯ement passionantes parfois, suivant ce que contiennent les enveloppes myst閞ieuses! C'est peut-阾re aussi bien que d'阾re constamment l'objet de la curiosit� des touristes! 0:))
T陃e de plaisanterie! La poste d'Avila a une bo顃e aux lettres tr鑣 originale! Encore faut-il avoir le courage de poster son courrier 0:))
Mais tu nous as pr関enu par cette belle composition toute simple. Nous saurons donc � quoi nous en tenir lorsque nous irons l�-bas!

Belo detalhe das caixas de correio. Vi semelhante noutras cidades espanholas.
"Moldura" (interior, na foto) muito bem aproveitada.
A chapa com o hor醨io � que podia ser mais discreta, talvez por baixo (mas o fot骻rafo n鉶 tem a culpa, claro).

Good caught of double lion's on well mounted stone facade. Modification on their mouth are so funny, remind me type of usage as electrical door bell button with two red led on eyes and white button on mouth. Very good clarity and sharpness. Have a nice weekend.

Ol� Jos�, curiosamente gosto bastante da vers鉶 nocturna que mais parece uma convers鉶 desta a sepia. Talvez esteja s� um pouquinho escura demais mas atrai-me mais do que esta. Seja como for adoro este detalhe e o facto de ser uma dupla talvez ajude nesse sentido. Simetrias e efeitos de repeti玢o s鉶 sempre apelativos em fotografia. Acho que se n鉶 fosse os objectivos do TE at� me dedicava mais a apanhar estes detalhes escult髍icos...ali醩, at� os fotogr醘o mas ficam perdidos nos arquivos - por isso � que me inscrevi no Flikr, pois assim p鷅lico tudo o que me apetece e em quantidade sem constrangimentos... ;-)

Des boites aux lettres originales, les coll鑗ues Espagnols ont du go鹴 en comparaison avec les horribles bo顃es Fran鏰ises.
Cadrage int閞essant mais quelle diff閞ence si on utilise la gauche ou la droite pour les destinations ?
