Wintersleep in spring, a photo from Blekinge, Gotaland

Photographer's Note

Taken somewhere in the Karlskrona archipelago. I do not remember the exact location but it definately was on one of the many islands.
Although taken in May it might not have been that warm yet and on a working day explaining the lack of people around in this photo. Usually the Swedes love to be out on the water sailing and swimming.

There are several archipelago's along the Swedish coast. There is a pretty big one north of Gothenburg up to the Norwegian border, one near Karlskrona in Blekinge, another one between Norrk鰌ing and V鋝tervik and one way up north near Lule�.

The most beautiful one however I find the one near Stockholm with about 20.000 islands and skerries. The Stockholm area is well accesible with scheduled boat services and there are many places to stay on the islands. It is on its very best in summer but can be nice in winter as well, very cold though.

This is a beautiful composition and scanned without compromising on quality. I like the foreground hiding the boats in the peaceful lake. well done.

Hi Harko,

Very bright light giving interesting colors and contrasts to the landscape. It seems to be a very pleaseant place. Are there people living there in winter or it's just a place for summer vacation?

Hi Harko,
This is a lovely shot and you did a good job with the scan. I particularly like the reeds in the foreground and another of my favourite - the boat. The scene is very well selected and the good clarity and colours make this very appealing. The cloud is most cooperative adding much dynamism to this composition. Splendid shot!!
