Photographer's Note

From 1627 to 1924 they produced iron in Borgvik, Sweden. At its peak, produced 4000 tonnes per year and Borgvik's service delivered some iron to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The old buildings that remain are of high cultural value. Many of them are built of rough, unfinished slagstone (known sinterstone). Altogether there are 50 or so extant, such as cabin ruins with furnaces and bows, bakery, mill and southern mansion. This is the bakerycabin at the river.
