On most popular walking paths of Switzerland you certainly are not alone. There are lots of tourists as well as Swiss citizens who love hiking. This means that there is a critical mass for profitable services. Whether you want lunch, coffee or beer, that's waiting around the next corner. This is Bergrestaurant Blatten half way between Zermatt and cable car station Furi.

Hello Kari,
A great photo of this group of typically Swiss wooden houses. You chose a good composition and viewpoint. The patterns of the green trees make an appealing background as well.

Hello Kari,
When walking in the nature, you naturally do not hope for a large number of fellow participants.
On the other hand it's nice that you don't have to bring your own supplies and that you can get a drink or survival ration along the way.
Others apparently prefer sunbathing instead of further walking :)
Beautiful wooden buildings in front of a forested mountain slope.

There is a pleasant atmosphere in the not too crowded restaurant among the pretty wooden cabins. The forest on the mountainside provides a fine background. I like the clarity and well saturated colours.

Hello Kari ,
I've visited Valais several times , but less known places , so they are very calm , especially in october (with the marvellous golden colors of the larch trees)
I'm a liitle afraid that I would be disappointed with the crowds in Zermatt . But to see the amazing Matterhorn , it is the best place. And typical architecture is interesting , too.

Everywhere there are so many tourists. Witing for the place in the restaurant is not something that I like. But here is at least waiting comfortably with the view. Charming wooden huts nicely decorated with the flowers.

Very realxing and comfrotable resort image, isn't it?
I have not yet visited Zermatt but my father did 30 years ago. The contarst of tasty wooden houses against deep green background is so pleasent to see.
