Zermatt is one of the most famous mountain resorts in Switzerland. Located in the German-speaking part of Valais its most popular sight is the iconic Matterhorn peak, probably Switzerland's most famous mountain.

Zermatt is surrounded by a range of fabulous mountains, including the highest of Switzerland, Monte Rosa. However the most famous of them is Matterhorn. It was one of the last alpine mountains to be conquered (in 1865), and the first expedition that reached the top ended dramatically (only 3 of the 7 climbers survived).

Almost all vehicles in Zermatt are battery driven and almost completely silent. Taxi drivers have a habit of assuming that pedestrians have eyes in the backs of their heads:)

Hello Piotr,
The many flowers make this a wonderfully bright photo. They almost steal my attention away from the small church and the steep mountain. Light and colours are perfect. You make an interesting comment about the silence of battery driven cars. They're good for the environment but may cause other problems.

Hello Piotr,
A great impression of this town in the mountains and this hotel with lots of colourful flowers, highlighted so well by a bright sunlight. The church is also a good addition in the backdrop.

Piotr, the traditional wooden house wasn t demolished, it was well integrated in the hotel. The colorful flowers on the balconies and planted in the garden add vivid colors to the mountain setting. Good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

Only once I visited this village, a beautiful place as we see here, it was in 05/1980, Piotr.
Still remember these type of wooden houses, wooden fences and decorated with flowers all over.
