Marmots of Val Languard, a photo from Graubunden, East

Photographer's Note

Actually this is the first time I ever got this close to these adorable creatures. You can imagine how excited I was. It was a big bonus that I happened to have my long lens attached. Seen while on the way up to Chamanna Paradis (previous photo). A chairlift from Pontresina will take you to the Alp Languard thus saving you 500m of uphill walking. This is the half way point before you make the ascent to Chamanna Paradis. Plenty of marmots here. My hiking companion played a recorded shrills of the marmot from her mobile. It got the marmots all the more curios.

Hello Latiff. Only when you open the thumbnail, you see these comical animals. With this photo you have managed a great shot. With a zoom lens, this should be no problem. But you have to wait for the perfect moment. Well done. Regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Latiff, Excellent shot of the wildlife in this region. You were fortunate to have your telephoto lens with you. It certainly worked well in this shot.

Cool, correctly focused shot of these cute marmots. Harmonous all brown colours. Nice that the sounds worked so well. Marmots aren't migratory so if you know where they live they are not hard to find.
