Photographer's Note
There has been already a TrekEarth Meeting in Lake District several years ago. It was before I have moved to the UK. This time the excuse for our meeting was a special guest from the Netherlands: Viviane.
Me, John, Mike, Will, Bev, Len have met her and her husband in Keswick. I have joined the party just for one day but others are still there...
Yesterday on a beautiful Great British summer day we have visited, among other lovely places, the Ashness Bridge (in this photo) south of Keswick.
Here are photos of this bridge taken on the previous TE meeting five years ago, by emka or tyro.

Hi Mariusz,it's always nice to read something about new meeting with TE friends,a very rich group this time as i can read, and the pic too is lovely,a typical scenery from this country,a mix of nature and old ruins as this bridge still working in a perfect perspective and very sharp,i like it! Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz,
What a beautiful landscape and you present it here so well in this good composition. The little stream leads so nicely towards the small bridge and the mountains further away in the background. The sunlight was very pleasant here too.

Hello Mariusz,
Ah, ha, you beat me! Yours (I think) is the very first picture from our little TE meeting!
This is a beautiful photograph and your composition is perfect. Because of the strong light I think you were very wise to take this picture from above the bridge but, even then, you have coped with the difficult lighting conditions extremely well. I love those lovely rich green ferns in the nearest foreground.
A fine composition with perfect exposure, lovely light and colours and exceptional details and sharpness throughout.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Besides the beautiful rural landscape and ever green forests and fields, a TE meeting in the lakes-district must be an awesome experience, Mariusz.
I may be sound envy, indeed something too difficult for me to do while being on TE.
My best regards,
Ike

Bonjour Mariusz,
C'est très plaisant pour vous que les distances soient aussi petites en Europe. Les réunions sont plus faciles et ceux qui connaissent bien la région peuvent servir de guide. Très beau cadrage vertical.
Bon dimanche

Not a spectacular landscape , but a charming picture , with all elements at the right place , drom ferns in the Fg , to the cloudy mountains in the BG , passing by the old stoned bridge .

Cześć Mariusz,
Zabawne że wybrałeśten mostek jako pierwsze zdjęcie z tego spotkania. ZObacz to zdjęcie. Wtedy tez było w Keswick. Szkoda ze tam nie byłam. Nie poznałam jeszcze Bev, Mike'a ani Willa.

Ciao Mariusz

Good Morning Mariusz,
I have just looked at my photographs and I think we must all have similar shots, though just variations in aspect. Wasn't it difficult to get a shot without including a member of our group!
I like how you have made such a feature of the ferns, to anchor the f/g, and then to use the tumbling stream so effectively to lead over the rocks to the focal bridge.
WE have a dual aspect into the distance, under the bridge or via the narrow road.
Though the sky looks cloudy, there is good light on your chosen scene which really enlivens the greens.
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hi Mariusz
A decent shot of a peaceful rural scene by the stream as we drawn to the old stone bridge. Lovely shooting point, depth and lead-in, and the toning lends gives it a nice finish. Congrats
Best wishes

Hello Mariusz.
A wonderful landscape with a sensational POV, I love these ferns in the foreground, the prospect of the river that leads to the bridge surrounded by trees and mountains as background cloud decks, a set of natural beauty.
Gorgeous color, which gives much strength to the image.
Very good brightness and perfect sharpness.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Best wishes.
Luis.

Hello Mariusz
Sorry I'm rather late with my comment on this one. Familiar scene to those of us who were on the visit, and a beautiful one too. I remember you using flash which surprised me a bit at the time, as the light was good as I recall. But I can see the effect you were after, and the ferns in the foreground in particular stand out. But I like the Dark Side! Most of my images are somewhat under-exposed, as I remember a warning from an RPS judge that modern digital cameras all tend to blow highlights. And I also subscribe to Oscar Wilde's dictum: "Never fear shadows, for shadows only mean there is a light shining somewhere near by." But you have created a very well-balanced photograph, even if I would have knocked half a stop off the exposure!!
Kind regards
Will

Bonjour Mariusz!
I am quite late with my critique, sorry... We are just one week back and I had more to do than I thought! ;)
This will stay a special memory for Chris and me because our first day with all of you was just great! And this moment at the Ashness Bridge will get a symbolic meaning too...
Very nice point of view and having succeeded in avoiding the "people" walking around is quite an achievement! :)
Just like Will already wrote, the bright green ferns in the foreground are beautifully set in the composition. Very well done!
