Photographer's Note
A walk along a deserted shore at Sandbanks Dorset, came upon a little bit of english history the well known shape of our traditional telephone box , unfortunately these are quite rare to see nowadays as most have been replace by modern types, but in various locations they are retained as they are in keeping with the surroundings , one few remaining icons left from the glory years of No mobile phones !!!

Selective de-saturation but left the historic red of the box
Cropped , levels and contrast , neat image added frame save for web

The idea is good and the realisation excellent !
I really like this kind of wink.
Congratulations, Roland !

I remember them well. So sturdy, so strong and so vivid in colour. Sad they are being replaced. I like the desaturated background as it puts emphasis on the phone box, and making a good contrast.

Great PP work the classic old phone booth just jumps out of a rather surprising landscape. This isn't where I'd expect to see a phone booth and that adds to the impact of the colour shift.

Ces cabines sont classées monuments historiques.
La composition est bonne avec la cabine située sur un point fort du cadre.
Vous avez voulu éliminer la couleur sur le reste de l'image, mais il subsiste des traces de couleurs.
These cabins are classified historic monuments. The composition is good with the cabin located on a strong point of the framework. You wanted to eliminate the color of the rest of the image, but there still remains traces of colors.

I love the booth. The use of B&W and color is great. To many of the good old things are going by the way. Wonderful shot.

Looks like Dr. Who is in town again!
I am in favour of maintaining things from the past and this phone booth is one of them. I see too many people with their mobile phones glued to their ears and your photo brings back some memories of the good old quiet days.
Very nice composition and a good idea to keep the booth red.

Great idea and so well executed. The phone booth so bright against the black and white landscape. It also seems so out of place here in the middle of no where.

Striking shot. Makes me think there should be a theme, 'photos named after a movie quote'. I wonder how many there are. Pts tomorrow. A fun new game to play.

Nice picture ! this telephone box seems lost in this landscape. Good idea to desaturate it.

Great idea. Funny you should say 'In keeping with the surroundings' when the phone box looks alien on the beach.

Great shot! Love the red especially against the neutral colors of the sand, sea and sky! This is a great one for the Picture of Britain Competition .
