Trees for Protection, a photo from Lancashire, England

Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This scene shows a field quite near my home.

After the rains and the cold weather, it is easy to see where the sheep have gathered for some degree of protection. The field is still grassy but here, beneath the trees, the grass has gone, to be replaced by many muddy footprints from the sheep.

In the background you will be able to see several houses; these are new but built in a traditional style with stone, the traditional material.

Hello Beverley,
Green moss shown well upon the trunk of each tree, usual for England, but here in Israel being a warm country we do not see this very often.
Beautiful view through the muddy foreground but the meadows look quite attractive beyond the low terrain built houses.
The picture nicely animated by the naked branches.

Hello Bev,
We see a nice view far into the distance, but in the foreground I am mainly attracted by the three trees that are well placed like a triangle around the muddy area. Two sheep was curious of the photographer in action. As usual it's a very well composed photo with attractive light and colours.

Hi Bev,

The trees are helping to frame the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the trees and of the houses. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Beverley, the positioning of the trees means that the scenery in the background is framed rather nicely by the tree trunks.
I like the sunlight and shadows.
The sheep coming to see what you are doing!

I see the trees as people waving their arms, (joke)
Between the trees get we nice panorama view with sheep and houses.
Also the blue sky care for a nice and soft contrast.

A lovely view of the hills and the distance underneath the blue sky and in this fine, bright winter sunlight. The three tree are well included in the foreground and create a nice natural frame.

Hello Beverley,
The two sheep in the centre of the photo wondered anxiously what the strange photographer was doing in their favourite spot.
Actually, the churned up earth forms an attractive foreground together with the three trees that do not obstruct the view of the beautiful landscape at all.
It is very good that people still want their new home in the style of the region and with the traditional building material.

It is good to see traditional looks are being used for new houses. A good semi rural photo of the sheep and mud. You're having a wet winter whilst we're having a cool wet summer.

Hi Bev,
This spot has indeed a feeling of a sanctuary. On one hand a place to hide on another great views around. The weather was amazing on that day. Beautiful natural colors!
On our end of England we have great weather every day but on the weekend it always get bad. And it is since over a month like that. It is just unbelieveable.
I think the sheep are quite curious about your presence :)

Hello Bev, Nice wide view of the area near your home. We see many sheep here; two near the hill but there are also some in the field. Interesting that the new houses are built in the traditional way. Beautiful light, let's hope the spring comes soon. I do not like the winter months in the city.

what amazing image !I liked it a lot with these curtains of nude branches in FG and the animals facing you at distance while we have a general view of the village and the rural landscape in the far BG. rural poetry. TFS.

Wonderful composition with this country landscape, good perspective with the gentle undulations of the terrain, I love these three large trees with the green of the moss on their trunks, the tangle of their branches gives a beautiful graphic highlighting against the blue of the sky, I love that the new houses follow the tradition in their construction, besides the stone is the best material, stronger and more durable.
An image to enjoy, with its beautiful color, great luminosity and perfect sharpness.
