Photographer's Note
Good Afternoon Everyone,
I have walked this lane many times, usually taking my neighbour's dog for a walk, for it is safe and interesting. I have photographed it in many different weather conditions.
I like how the wall has a curve, which seems to add fun, as a guide line.
The farm in the distance is being renovated, since the old farmer died last year. Renovation is so much more rewarding than having the building demolished.
I photographed it landscape and portrait. I will add the portrait version as a workshop.
I hope you have a lovely weekend, better than the rain and wind that we are experiencing, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
I like both versions and really can't say which one I prefer. They both include the curve and the trees in front of the house, and they both have amazingly good colours and contrasts for such a cloudy and dull day, when the light hardly was the best. But maybe, after looking several times at both photos, my choice is the "portrait", for the closer view of all essential features.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
The length of the lane is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the farm house. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Bev
I like the way the tree joins land and sky. The sinuous wall gives a sense of mystery.

Hello Beverley,
Both pictures are wonderfully taken with vivid tones and good light management, even as the cloudy sky aloft.
The big naked tree made a fine focal POV upon the farm house atop the shallow hill.
Charming spot, how typical English lane with its stoney fences...
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hi Bev,two beautiful photos of the farmhouse under renovation after the death of the old owner, in fact it is better to keep the old style rather than demolish, excellent perspective played with the curve of the road. The rain comes to you, and here we really need it, the Alps are snowless and the lakes are almost dry, it hasn't rained for two months. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Bev,
Your two pictures are for me worth the same
Nice image double wall to both sides of the road
Maybe are the wall a tradition in your country, maybe were formerly much stones in the area, and maybe for free
Lovely sharp and clear captured.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hello Bev,
You live in such an idyllic area. I like this landscape-oriented photo because it shows more of the countryside on the left side. I also like the curve of the path as it leads us to the farm. Very nice. :-)

HI Bev
Yes - a great gentle curve in the lane leading our eyes to the building beyond. You placed the start of the walls perfectly on either side of the photo. Great one.
cheers

Hi Beverley
Love the wall being used as a lead in to the image with further exploration of the countryside, Like the layered colours but amazing how they construct these walls with all the detail showing up great...
Best regards

we have the same weather unfortunately, not a day for walking the dog or otherwise. A well chosen stop point to let the path lead us to the house and trees. I like how we can still see some rolling hills in the background also.

Hello Beverley, I like both versions, but maybe the w/s version slightly more, as I like the bare tree outlined against the cloudy sky.
You live in a lovely part of the country with so many photo opportunities.
Excellent sharp quality.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Beverley,
I prefer the photo with the most dry stone wall and the sheep included :)
Actually, both pictures are very good.
The curving road is excellent for the attractive composition.
However, I keep wondering why those dry stone walls never collapse.
Best regards, Paul

Lovely pov, Bev! Your title is spot on, as the pov here really allows us to "follow that curve", past the tree, up to the farm. Great shot.

Hello Bev, Difficult to choose what is better - landscape or portrait. In England, I like these low stone walls, I found them so nice and typical English. We haven't them in Poland. Good that the old house is renovated and will accommodate new owners. Lovely composition.

Hi Bev,
This photo has everything you could wish for to have a great composition. The curvy road leading the eye to the farm, remote farm itself and also charming grove of trees. The only thing bothering me this time is not even the weather because the mood is well captured here but the fact that the trees overlap with the farm buildings. It would be so much better to have them separated but I realize you would then loose the lovely curve of the road.
Tough choice :)
Very well done,
M

Hi Bev,
A very pleasing photo despite the cloudy conditions. The bare tree branches help give a slightly desolate atmosphere. The curve of the path really adds interest as it leads us to the old farmhouse.

I presume the way is much more older than the stone fences. nice the softness of the curves with the tree and house ahead, looks like a scenery of some pre-victorian romance.
take care

Hi Bev.
A beautiful composition, with this winding road, well defined by its stone walls, which leads to the property that we see in the background, a large stone house that, together with the two large trees, captures our attention.
I like the photo of the WS in that vertical that makes both the trees and the house look better.
Both the color and the luminosity of the photo are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the composition.
Very well done. I like it
Have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Beverley,
Typical English style old house with stone fences on both side of the road. I like this photo better with a further perspective on the main subject.
Great photo as well as colors, light and sharpness.
Best regards,
Zbigniew
