Photographer's Note

From the left bank of the River Thames, in the area of the Tower of London, you can enjoy a beautiful view towards the other shore, with an interesting architecture of contemporary buildings, which with their lighting stand out on the sky still a little blue, at dusk. In this photo you can see on the left the City Hall building, and on the right The Shard.

Wikipedia Info:

City Hall is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority (GLA), which comprises the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. It is located in Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames near Tower Bridge. It was designed by Norman Foster and opened in July 2002, two years after the Greater London Authority was created.
The building has an unusual, bulbous shape, purportedly intended to reduce its surface area and thus improve energy efficiency, although the excess energy consumption caused by the exclusive use of glass (in a double facade) overwhelms the benefit of shape. A 500-metre (1,640 ft) helical walkway ascends the full ten stories. At the top is an exhibition and meeting space called "London's Living Room", with an open viewing deck which is occasionally open to the public. The walkway provides views of the interior of the building, and is intended to symbolise transparency.

The Shard, is a skyscraper constructed in Southwark's district in London. It is the highest skyscraper of United Kingdom and of the European Union. It is located in the same place where there was the buildings Southwark Towers, which were demolished in 2006.
The tower has 306 meters of height and 73 floors. The building, a work of the Italian architect Renzo Piano, has been designed by an irregular triangular form from the base up to the top part. It has been totally covered with glass. In the last plant there is a viewing-point and an a terrace of observation outdoors, opened to the visitors, when they pay 29,90 pounds, from February 1, 2013. The structure was completed in April, 2012, and opened the doors on public July 5, 2012.
The building is a property of the State of Qatar, that has spent 95 % of 450 million pounds that has cost the construction.
