The first thing I learnt about St.Paul's Cathedral is that it was built by Ch.Wren (actually he rebuilt most of the churches in London after the big fire of 1666). And the second thing was about the special acoustics of its dome, in the Whispering Gallery (any whisper said against the wall can be heard anywhere in the gallery).
St.Paul's is a very special landmark of London and of England as it's the only English cathedral built after the Middle Ages, and because its dome is the largest in the world only after St.Peter's Cathedral in Rome.
Those of you who visit Santiago de Compostela are invited to try the same acoustic effect in the round bench of the Alameda; it isn't as old as St.Paul's but it's worth trying ...and it's for free ;-)
