Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This is Christ Church in Oxford, a most beautiful building.
Christ Church was founded nearly five hundred years ago, part of Renaissance movement to improve education and train young men for an active life in the church or the state. The first steps were taken in 1524 by Cardinal Wolsey, then Henry VIII’s chief advisor; he planned to build a new, Cardinal’s College ‘for the increase of good letters and vertue’. The money for it was to come from closing some monasteries, including the St Frideswide priory in Oxford, whose site was to provide the nucleus for the new college. - Internet
I spent the time exploring Oxford with my husband Len and our two friends Viviane and her husband Chris. WE were following a trail which took us to the locations of the sites where episodes of Morse had been filmed. It was a great way to explore the city and took us to a few out-of-the-way places.
Of course, this wasn't such a place, it is famous and well visited but a spectacular location for filming.
I will add a second view of the building as a workshop. I was hesitant as to which to use as my main post but I think the f/g shrubs just gave this the edge.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
In the WS we see a bit more of the building, but I agree that the yellow plants in the foreground give this photo an advantage. Bright colours and eye-catching foregrounds mean so much for a photo. I must admit that to me Morse represents the ta-ta-ta taa-ta-ta communications system, rather than a TV detective. I think Inspector Morse has been popular here too, but I watch very little TV.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Bev ,
You've chosen a beautiful POV to present us this superb old church . The composition with the luminous bushes and the green grass in the Fg is excellent .

Beautifully composed picture, Beverley, from the yellow flowers and green plants to the abbey complex of buildings.
Depth, fine clarity and good contrast of colors - all wonderfully culminate here.
The WS is no-less beautiful diff. POV.
Good afternoon,

Très bonne journée.
Amitiés.

Hello Beverley,
Such a lovely view from Oxford with the church on the other side of the gardens. Good vertical composition, which includes the gardens so well in the foreground. The light was really pleasant and gentle.

Hello Beverley, perfect light conditions which shows all the colours, textures and details at their best.
The plants in the foreground direct our eyes towards the architecture.
(I wonder how different our world would be if Henry VIII hadn't been so determined in his actions?)
Thanks for the extra shot.
Regards Jean.

Hello, Bev!
The garden in the foreground really makes the difference here, making this main photo even more beautiful than the workshop, and it also helps giving very good depth to the view! Wonderful capture of the church, everything was captured with excellent light, colors and sharpness! Very nice job!

Hi Beverley,
Two nice views of the back of Christchurch college ! The composition in both is absolutely perfect. Perhaps, just a little preference for the vertical photo, with the lovely lawn in the foreground, surrounded by colourful bushes.
Thanks for sharing and kindest regards.
Marie-Louise.

Hello Bev,
The yellow green fg shrubs contrast well with the blue sky and also add depth and layering, and the gap funnels the eye towards the bg church. Tfs!

Beverley, impressive five hundred years old church seen from its garden. Only a side of the monument is visible on the picture as well as some annexes. The garden is well maintained, good light. Interesting photo note explaining the building history.

Hello Beverley,
Morse was one of my favourite series. But I often felt a bit sorry for his assistant.
The hedge in front ensures a good composition.
Attractive natural colours.
The beautiful church towers nicely above the other buildings.
Best regards, Paul
