Photographer's Note
Inspired by John :). I hope you will like it.
Yesterday John showed the view of the Magdalen Tower. The tower is a part of Magdalen College, one of the most impressive in Oxford. It is situated near the river. Behind the tower, there is a Magdalen (of course :)) Bridge. Near this bridge, one can hire a small boat, punt, for a trip. I suppose that the students can earn some money by it. But I didn't go by boat.
Magdalen College was founded in 1458 by William of Waynflete. Today, it is one of the wealthiest colleges, and one of the strongest academically. rnrnThe large, square Magdalen Tower is an Oxford landmark, and it is a tradition, dating to the days of Henry VII, that the college choir sings from the top of it at 6 a.m. on May Morning. The college stands next to the River Cherwell and the Oxford botanic garden, and within its grounds has a deer park and Addison's Walk.
Better see in a large format here:

It seems that the coronavirus affected also TE. Is the end approaching?
As to my yesterday photo of bats. The cafe was in a very popular tourist place, in Tanah Lot, so I think that they were just tourist attraction, like pets. They had also a few luwaks. They look well cared for. Only later at home, I wanted to read something about bats in Indonesia and I saw terrible views of bats in the market. But in Bali, I didn't see any (luckily!). Can you imagine Western tourists wanting to eat bats? Nooo, and especially in corona times.

Hello Malgo,
The other photos are also nice, but there is no doubt I prefer this view from above. I like the look of the green punter standing in the boat floating on the green water below the green trees. The many boats parked closely together create a fine pattern. The light is very good too. It's a fine photo which you kept in your archive far too long.
Have a nice Sunday.

Hello Malgo,
Oxford is certainly the centre of TE, at the moment.
Three interesting photographs from the famous city and, like you, this is my favourite. The boats are called punts and from here, and your w/s, it is easy to see their long, flat-bottomed design.
When you notice the length of the quant (oar pole), you wonder how he is going to negotiate the low hanging trees!
Your photographs do not give the impression of a city, more like the countryside or a huge park.
Have a lovely Sunday and keep safe, Bev :-)

Hello Malgo,
An interesting photo of this Oxford tourist attraction for tourists who like to visit places reminiscent of Venice and where they can cruise around in gondolas.
Excellently presented in two photos. I do not understand the third with the dining room in this context.
Well done
Have a nice Sunday.
Be careful and stay safe, Rob

Hello Malgo
A very nice capture of these boats. The way the boats are handled makes me think of Venice. Well taken from a well chosen POV. Fine work:) TFS.

Hello dear Malgo,
First of all, thank you so much for your email which enclosed a wonderful video (nearly 20 minutes, I think!) of Oxford - I will reply to that very soon.
And thank you here too for clearing up any misunderstanding about those bats in your last photographs - I was pleased that they were just pets and not destined for the table! But I am sure these people are still leaving themselves open to infection from these bats even if the don't eat them!
Now that I look at the date you took these photographs of the punts in Oxford, I remember that this was just a very few days after we had all met in Keswick, Cumbria at the beginning of June, 2011.
And I do remember having been on a punt like these way back in the mid 1960s when a school friend of mine was studying in Oxford - I went to visit him one weekend and we went out in a punt and I stood at the back and propelled the punt along the River Cherwell. It was quite good fun but very slow. I was happy to do it then but now I am old and wobbly, I think I might easily fall into the river! :)
Your main photograph is wonderful, showing a huge collection of punts. And I like very much your photo of Magdalen Bridge, especially as it includes so many brightly painted punts - I have never seen those before, only the plain wood ones!
And a fine photo of the college refectory too.
Wonderful!
You take care and stay safe.
Kind Regards,
John. xx

Hi Malgo,
You have captured well that action of the persons moving the boats. The point of view is showing the details of the boats and of the trees. The light is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Malgo,
On the thumbnail it looked so weird that one part of the river had a green colour and the other part of the water was blue. Seeing the full picture it looks normal.
There are so many boats moored together that the passage has become quite small.
It's wonderful that the city of Oxford has such a beautiful green environment.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Malgo, a good choice of shot, and I also like the shot of the bridge with the colourful boats in a fan shape.
Your higher point of view gives us a good impression of the river with all the punts ready for use.
I can imagine that it can get quite congested on the water when everyone is out.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards Jean.

Cześć Malgo,
To prawie Wenecja, z łodziami i kierowcami. Bardzo urocze to miejsce. Jadalnia jest bardzo wyrafinowana, co mogłem zobaczyć w WS. Doskonałe zapisy i objaśnienia.
Dobra niedziela dla ciebie

Hello Malgo,
A charming elevated view of the boats and the boatman, somewhat reminiscent of Venice. Fantastic color, sharpness and saturation. Tfs!

Hello Malgo.
I would never have imagined that this large number of such curious boats would correspond to Oxford, beautiful views of the river with those greenish waters, a lot of trees and a green field in the background.
A great photo, with very good color, very well managed both lighting and sharpness.
Well done. I like.
May you enjoy Sunday.
All the best, be careful and stay safe.

Hello Malgo,
You got a really nice overview of those many boats moored at the side of this surprisingly green river as well as some on their way, probably with some tourists. Good composition and fine lighting also.

Hi Malgo,
Nice POV and view with perspective effect, pleasant light, well taken with the boat in the left side with people. Strange but well rendered green water, tfs.

Bonjour, chère Malgo,
A voir toutes ces embarcations, l'on a l'impression qu'il s'agit d'un concessionnaire ! ;o)
Toujours des images qui frappent l'esprit et qui font participer à la découverte.
Amitiés.

I presume this is the same spot where I found lots of boats in oxford, near botanic garden. I liked the repetition of boats here. oxford didn't bring me nice memories, my guide abandoned me there at the end of the day, fortunately that place has a nice transportation system.
take care
