In my last post I described the unique isolation of Durness in North-West Scotland. This photo was taken close to the village centre in the early evening.

Hello Ann,
I don't know if it's the same dog as in the last photo, but the person looks different. But they are still important for the composition, and so is the person further away. The black rocks rising haphazardly from the sand give the beach a special character, just as the green hill in the distance is an immediate eye-catcher. I like the distribution of black, light brown, blue and green features, and of course the photo's fine clarity and sharpness.

Hi Ann,another lovely pic from Durness,that,as i wrote in the last comment,reminds me my vacation there many years ago. A second peaceful beach in the gallery,close to the american one posted by Jimmy! Great view with the typical ingredient made by the man with the dog..eheh...i like it! This and your last photo form a series showing empty beaches with just a man (or two) and a dog in different weather conditions. I like the colours: the contrasting hues of the sky and the sand with a nice splash of green in the distance.

Hello Ann,
I was so intrigued, went and found this beach on the Google-Maps: located at 58.5685, -4.7374 precisely on the map.
A marvelous picture on a bright day, smooth sea and good scale achieved with the man walking his dog around the black rocks.
I did not travel so north on the Highlands, must be a great area to explore.

A great photo of this amazing land/seascape, beautiful beach and picturesque rocks, two persons and a dog are the sign the beach is not so crowded as most beaches in the South of Europe

Hello Ann, Another view of this beautiful wild beach. Marvelous landscape, I like these green grassy hills. The man with a dog and another one farther are a nice addition to the composition. I like the northern beaches. Maybe too cold to swim (for me, at least) but what walks and views.

Nice white sand, clean clear blue sea, and an interesting assortment of jagged rocks. The man walking his dog adds a good focal point and the other solitary beachcomber in the bg adds interest. Good sharpness and framing, too. Tfs!

What a beautiful coastline and what a beautiful quiet beach!
The picture is very well balanced.
I like the view of the big boulders spread over the sand.
Nice colour combination of the rosy beach, the green top of the cliffs in the distance and the blue sea.

beautiful view!
It reminds me very much Irish coast which is I am sure quite similar.
Fantastic point of view from a cliff I suppose or a sand dune.
The fine clean sand is nicely alternated with interestingly shaped rocks.
You have well captured the man with his dog. They animate the scene well and there is one more person there who helps to better imagine the scale.
Great clarity -we can admire the further fragments of the coast.
You have well selected an interesting fragment including nicely sculpted cliffs.

Interesting place with rock formation surrounded by sandy beach. A quiet place for a walk with the dog.
