Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Please click here to see a much larger, clearer view.
I continue with the journey of our TE Trek in the Lake District.
This photograph shows our brief stop in Borrowdale. The road was narrow and the few parking spaces were already occupied. However, with the determination renown in TE members, we managed to squeeze onto a little spare ground.
My photograph shows the River Derwent slowly snaking across the moorland terrain. I tried to get low so that I could include some of the wild flowers which, somehow manage to compete with these strong moorland grasses. The view is looking north towards Derwentwater so I'm sure one of the mountains in the b/g will be Skiddaw.
I will add another view of the scene in my w/s and one of the TE group. I did find it difficult to decide which should be the main post.
We are experiencing lovely, warm weather at the moment, I hope it is lovely where you are, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
This is so different from John's photo today, and yet they were taken the same day. The Lake District seems to be offering a very varied scenery, and also rather varied weather. The thick tufts of grass beside the gently flowing stream provide a pleasant foreground, and the hills of many colours further back should offer some nice treks and certainly a lot of fresh air. There is an amazing number of attractive tones of green and yellow/brown, which should be a great challenge for painters as well as photographers.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Bev,
The low point of view was an excellent choice given the rather insipid looking sky. You have managed to achieve a wonderful depth and there is some superb detail to be observed in the foreground grasses. The stream, or is it a rill up there, running obliquely across the bottom of the frame helps create a sense of dynamism. After some very hot and sunny days, today the weather here is decidedly cloudy but still quite warm and sticky.

Did not any barrow around this wonderful, wild and un-touched landscape, Beverley.
Yet, a beautiful rural country sight, and picture is effectivly "filled" its space from closer range bushes towards the hills on the far side.
Bravo and a nice afternoon, my friend.

Hello Bev,
Three lovely photographs, each one perfectly taken and each with a different interest but I think you chose the perfect one for your main image - where we can just see Mike hiding in the deep grass on the left.
The line of the river adds very much to the fine composition as it curves off to the right beyond the lovely foreground grasses speckled with yellow flowers - and they contrast beautifully with the rocks and pebbles of pink granite in this shallow stream.
I'm sure that Malgo will appreciate your "group" picture in which Len boldly stands "master of all he surveys" while the rest of us either saunter about or jump from one viewpoint to another like headless chickens.
Three lovely photographs which bring back fond memories of our little TE meeting!
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Bev,
an excellent way to present this scenery with its succeeding layers and varying tones and textures. I like very much the perspective and the thick layer of weeds in the foreground, it looks like a green wave sweeping the scenery. I also like the other "waves" that reach far into the distance, the play of light over them enhances the sense of depth and makes the landscape even more impressive. I like the workshop pictures too, both the landscape and the documentary:)
Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Hi Bev
One of the nicest things in te is the group meets, I have made some wonderful friends through the site and u really like that you included the group photo, shutterbugs in action! Lovely view of the area that includes the close view of the plant life and the distant view of the mountains. I'm not too from your part of the world and it is teeming with reason here, torrential all day. What a difference a few miles can make!
Cheers

Hello Bev
Very attractive composition with a great combination foreground and background.
Fascinating contrast between the grass and the water and the grey-blue mountains behind.

Ps I hope the next uploads to have some more time to prepare and post a 1200 pixel version

Hello Bev, I look at all these pictures from the meeting with great pleasure. Lovely high grasses or reeds. The mountains in Cumbria are not high but looks spectacular.

Hi dear Beverley
Nice documentation from famous Lakes District. Low and normal appraoch is quite reasonable via keeping well balance of river, glases and mountains in the background.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Hello Beverley,
Such a beautiful landscape and you composed the view perfectly from this low POV. I like to see the high grasses and the little river in front of the larger hills. Despite the overcast sky, the light is most favourable here, resulting in some fine, natural colours.
