View of Marina Bay area of Gibraltar. I was going on a Dolphin Adventure trip while another boat returned to the marina. No sights of dolphins this time. I read that April is not favourable month for spotting dolphins. But it was very nice to get a closer view of ship and boat traffic on the Bay of Gibraltar.

Hello Kari,
You didn't see any dolphins, and I don't see any monkeys here. ;-) But the huge cliff is just as impressive and the modern buildings are quite attractive. I guess they would be popular places to live, and for that reason probably very expensive. The blue boat is well placed in the foreground. The photo is nicely arranged into three sections and the colours are delightful.

Hello Kari!

Nice perspective unknown to most of Gibraltar's visitors: the civil naval version. What a luck to have the blue boat pass by and give a formidable foreground! And if Holmertz from Sweden misses the monkeys: he should employ some good binoculars and search The Rock :-)

A modern part of Gibraltar that I haven't seen.
It looks rather like a holiday village.

Hello Kari,

This is a well judged photograph, with a fine diagonal composition.
I like the dynamism created by the moving boat and the fact that its wake is on an opposing diagonal to that created by the rock and the buildings.The lack of dolphins would have been a disappointment but sailing on a boat is still a thrill!

sorry to hear you didn't get to see any dolphins, I guess thats the risk you take right? same with whale watching. For me personally, the boat is the main focal point here and it adds so much to the overall scene. But I bet you were hoping to post photos of dolphins! and of course having that steep landscape is pretty darn cool too. cheers

Hello Kari,
View from sea to the top of the rock, with the marina and new modern buildings along the waterfront.
The passing blue boat gave good sense of motion to the scene.
The place offers many intriguing object from diff. angles for photography.
