Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
We have experienced an unpleasant mixture of weather conditions, over the weekend, but I am glad to say the wind has now dropped and, at last, the rain has ceased.
I thought you might be interested to view two photographs that I took during the snowstorm, delivered bu Storm Eunice.
This one, showing a trio of windows, (which I hope Krzysztof will like) was taken using my Nikon D300. The second photograph, of the same windows,(seen as a workshop) was taken using my One Plus 5T phone.
Let's hope the snow has ceased for this winter, Bev :-)
I know Ike likes to look at places on Google maps. If, like him, you are interested the photograph was taken on Colne Road.

Lep pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...

Mid-winter storm broght rough weather pattern over England, so we learnt from the TV here, Beverley.
Excellent snowy picture.
Stay warm, keep up the spirit. Colne road is already well known to me... approx. 53.845, -2.141 on the map.
Good evening,
Ike

Hello Bev,
The snow and the window frames actually look whiter in the WS, but I prefer the main photo anyway. The colours and light seem softer and we get a slightly wider view, including the snow covering the roof. I also notice that the yellow flowers inside the ground floor window are more clearly seen in the main photo. I don't know if these differences are because these two cameras always behave slightly differently, or whether you used different setting for the two photos or treated them differently in PP.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev
Firstly, I know that the weather in the UK has been dismal with the storms and all the unpleasant things they bring like strong wind but this wintery scene is beautiful. I love the way you captured the falling snow and also the yellow flowers in the window (daffodills??) that announce the imminent arrival of spring.
I can see the same difference between my phone and DSLR images - snow/dusk shots taken on the smartphone seem warmer, the camera automatically compensates for the cold light. I sometimes can't decide which ones I prefer! It often depends on which one I took first... ;-)
How did your bird watch go? Mine was mainly starlings and sparrows but I did see two robins as well!
Best wishes
Kasia

Hi Bev,
The point of view is showing the details of the house and of the garden. It is clear and precise. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Beverley
I don't think anybody is going anywhere for a while and that's one big snow fall. This expresses a winter mood well where the lack of colour conveys the season's bleakness and the strength of the snow storm. The essence of Winter was beautifully captured.

Hi Bev
More good reportage on the storms and I definitely prefer the Camera version over the phone one - much better detail and colour.
cheers

Hello Bev, Interesting comparison of two photos taken with different cameras. I prefer the main one, because of the snowy roof (has nothing to do with a camera), but also it is softer. I like the yellow flowers in the window. Charming photos could be Christmas postcards in case there is no snow.
I travel with two cameras and a smartphone so quite often I make similar comparisons. The photos taken by smartphone seem the best for me.

Hi Bev,
You captured three windows with one shot!
Great picture presenting the snow storm. I think they will run out of names for them soon. Nice asymmetric composition. Very well done,

Hi Bev,the storm is gone and the snow too, it remains a nice memory before the start of springtime. 2 very nice pics, it seems better the WS talking about the colors, the main seems a bit...blue..but the details are always excellent. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Beverley,
Beautiful winter report.
I like the inclusion of the snow covered roof in your main picture.
I actually had to look for the flowers first and when I discovered them I wondered why I didn't see them right away since they make up a very nice element of the photo.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Beverley
A beautiful view of your backyard despite the cold, but I love it. Clarity and exposure are well done. Thanks for sharing

Hello Beverley,
Another lovely winter photo with a pleasant layer of snow in the garden in the foreground. The white windows stand out well from the darker walls in the background as well. Good and tight composition.

Hello Beverly,
Every time I say "I don't want to see snow for another 7 months," we get snow. We are supposed to get snow through tonight, too, but it's not supposed to stay.
Regards,
MT
