Photographer's Note

More of the gardens today, in front of Cotehele.

Cotehele is a Tudor house perched high above the Tamar valley, one of the least altered Tudor houses in the UK.
The last time we visited, there was no electricity in the house.

They must have installed electricity quite recently, because I don't think your last visit was 50 years ago or more. ;-)
It's amazing that a building like this has remained so relatively untouched into recent years. Seeing the exterior is like stepping back in times. And seeing the thatched hut in the WS is like stepping far away geographically. It looks like a very special place. and the main photo gives us a good look with a wide view of the garden in the foreground.

This is a really beautiful property and your photographs have revealed how the building and the garden are so united in capturing the mood and the tranquility of the setting.
It's really well composed so that the lines naturally guide us from the f/g and ensure that the details are all perused.

Wonderful place, the stone houses seem charming to me, but what attracts me most is the beautiful garden, I would spend a good time there taking photos of flowers and plants, the WS photos confirm the exuberance of the gardens.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and magnificent composition; They are managed perfectly, in this beautiful image.

Hi Jean,

That's a beautiful old stone house with lovely gardens surrounding it. Good composition, depth of field and colours. The garden must be fun to explore, and I expect the house interior is pretty spectacular too.
