Photographer's Note
Yellow rapeseed (Brassica napus) fields are very much liked by photographers because they provide a very strong yellow colour to the landscape. Unfortunately, when I walked along this rapeseed field, the flowers were already gone, and the plant proudly displayed the pods with the oil-rich seeds. Rapeseed oil is not only great to use in the cuisine but also can be, at least with some newer engines, used directly as a biodiesel fuel. Supposedly the cost of making rapeseed oil is higher than the standard diesel fuel. But imagine that you have to purchase the fuel from a devil who uses the money from you to kill innocent people, torture civilians for no reason except of fulfilling his fantasies. This perspective changes everything, doesn抰 it? Are you still happy to pay less to the devil or rather consider stopping the devil and at the same time do something good for environment?
Of course, we know now that biodiesel is not the ultimate answer to the sustainable renewable energy but passing the rapeseed field made me think that not only for the benefit of Ukrainian people but also for us and especially for the future generations, we have to speed up the transformation to renewable energy sources.

This will be yellow in a bout a month, as i remember from my Europe visits, mariusz.
The close POV shows this plant in different color and texture we usually see on TE, i.e. in yellow.
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Hello Mariusz,
Great close-up of the green rapeseed plants, which you captured here with excellent sharpness and they stand out so well from the blurry background as well. Good idea and well executed.

mariusz
a nice close up of the plants with the green seeds yet.
here we have few colza fields. some years ago the price of corn and soybean wasn't so high and they were used as a fuel, at this moment they are so many precious for this use. the artificial gasoline or the use of hydrogen would be more interesting and nice for nature I guess.
take care

Ciao Mariusz,I agree on the good intentions of using biodiesel to wage war on Putin, but they are not all roses when it comes to an environmental change ... just think about how much Amazon rainforest has been destroyed in Brazil to grow agave from which alcohol is extracted for locomotion, very common in Brazil .... and in any case it is an inexpensive cultivation, for me it is almost impossible to find the yellow fields while they were very common 10 years ago. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Fotograficznie wole jednak te rosliny podczas kwitnienia, choc w takim stanie staja sie powoli dobrem deficytowym.
pozdrawiam

Hello Mariusz
You did a good job on canola pods. Good combination with faded background. I work in a company that has more than 50 years of experience in the development and cultivation of oilseeds in Iran (http://www.ordc.ir/). Thanks
