Photographer's Note
It took us around 17 hours by bus to get to Masshad from Teheran, the city was definietely worth visiting though. It's one of the holiest places of Iran, with the shrine of Imam Reza, who was poisoned and martyred in the ninth century. The atomosphere was really striking and you could feel easily how important this place is for people visiting it. They come here from all over Iran. As Masshad is near the Afghan border, it's distant from most of the Iranian cities and that's why you can see lots of people who managed to come to Masshad to pay their tribute to Imam Reza, but who cannot afford to stay in cheapest hotels even, so they live for several days on streets. Young and old, families with children... truly moving place.

Hello Hanna. A very good photo with an interesting point of sharpness. The two women look directly and intensively into the camera. With a man as photographers they would have perhaps turned away. The picture is really completely outstanding composed. Masterfully. Many greetings, Wolfgang.
