Elephants graffiti upon the border walls, a photo from Akko, Northern

Photographer's Note

It is useful to read this note:

Difficult to choose from the three Elephants graffiti pictures on the "Talking walls" in Shtula, a village close to the border with Lebanon, at 680m ~ above sea-level.

The reason to build a massive concrete defense wall, which stretches for 200m and 4 meters high, was following the abduction of two soldiers which led to the outbreak of the Second Lebanon War in 2006, shooting directly into Shtula from Ayta-ash-Sha'ab, the town 1.5km~ across to Lebanon.
Later, a group of eight graffiti artists participated in a project to decorate the wall with different themes, mainly calling for peace.
Location at 33.0877, 35.3205 on the map.

A good capture of these colourful elephant murals on the wall. As usual, a tiny minority of people doing the wrong thing spoil it for everyone. Someone has put this unused negative space on the wall to very good use, so this cloud had a silver lining. Tfs!

Hello Ike,
The three different versions from various angles give us a good idea of this painting. Maybe the candle somehow physically connected with two of the elephants should be interpreted as a light of hope.

The concrete walls are very stark and uninteresting but what a change when decorated with lively, colourful elephants!
I think you chose the best photograph for your main post, showing the adult elephants and the infants all moving in a direction ... hopefully a peaceful direction!

These concrete walls give me great sadness, because I think that what they best represent is the lack of understanding, so that humanity lives with its daily problems and not also with the additions. At least this graffiti adds a bit of color to the ugliness of gray.
