Photographer's Note
A re-visit to the holy city of Tzfat, while strolling arrived (again) to the Ashkenazi Ari Synagogue.
The synagogue was built in the mid-16th century in the Old City of Tzfat named after the ARI, founder of the Lurian Kabbalah.
In religious circles, the ARI is a well-known Hebrew acronym for Rabbi Yitzhak Lurie Ashkenazi.
Two cell-phone pictures of its interior, main picture shows the center stage, and the WS shows the Tora cabinet, a beautifully decorated by marble and wooden carvings.
Location in the old town is at 32.96966, 35.4917 on the map.

Hello Ike,
You had a good light and the photo is very well exposed and sharp. There are many fine details but my favourites are the blue parts of the ceiling. The Tora cabinet in the WS is very interesting. I have not been inside many synagogues. There is a small orthodox synagogue in the block where I live, only 50 meters from my gate, but I don't think it is ever open to outsiders for security reasons. It is very discreet and nothing is seen from the street.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ike,2 beautiful pics from this very old synagogue of Tzfat,it seems a small one remembering my visit of other synagogues in Budapest and Djerba, where they are very big. The typical style of decorations, very rich in the view of WS.Excellent quality from your mobile. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ike,
A good photo of the interior of this old synagogue. The yellow and green parts in the foreground are very nice, just as the light blue paintings on the ceiling. Well captured.

Hi Ike,
very nicely decorated synagogue. We had several beautiful synagogues in my home town Tarnow, your father may have visited them. Sadly all of them have been burned down by Germans. I was just amazed by seeing them on old postcards.
I can see the star of David and it is good to see inscriptions in Hebrew as well.
Very well done,
M

Hello Ike, I like visiting temples of all kinds. I have been in many churches, Orthodox churches, mosques, pagodas, wats, whatever, but only in a few synagogues. The reason is they are usually closed. We have a synagogue in Warsaw, very nice, but only once I had the opportunity to see it during the Jewish Festival.
I was in Israel with the organized tour and what we saw? - mainly churches! Not even one synagogue. Of course, the churches are more interesting for Polish people :(. Also, I would love to visit Safed, the nice small town, as I read, but it was impossible either. I was so disappointed that for years I didn't go for any organized tour.
Very simple but nice interior.

Hello Ike,
This looks like a lovely synagogue, with lots of artistic details. I especially like the blue and white ceiling. Those colors are more muted compared to the brighter green and yellow below. The Torah cabinet is also beautiful. Take care!

Hello Ike,
They must expect a lot of tourist as the sign on the Torah cabinet has an English translation. I like its simple beauty.

Hello Ike,
I may have visited this synagogue in Tzfat but after 42 years I can't remember for sure.
Anyway, you present us a part of its interior in a very attractive composition.
The variety of colours and the beautiful lines of the arches on the ceiling make for a very nice picture.
Excellent sharpness and clarity.
Best regards, Paul
