Bauhaus in Tel-Aviv, a photo from Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

Photographer's Note

Afternoon shadows through Idelson street in Tel-Aviv, taken with a Cell-Phone on a calm interval of the traffic from the corner of busy Alenby st., while waiting for my bus.
This part of Tel-Aviv was mainly built in the 1930th and a Bauhaus architecture's style can be seen in many places around this neighborhood.
The corner of Idelson st. on the map: 32.073223, 34.767264.

Here is a link to Bauhaus in Tel-Aviv, apparently to my surprise there are some 4,000 buildings in the city depicted as "Bauhaus" styled.

Hi Ike,

The street is sending my eyes toward the buildings in the background which is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Tel Aviv isn抰 the first town when I think of cities with Bauhaus architecture. 4000 buildings is really an amazing number. Your link to the article in the TelAvivGuide is a very good addition to your lovely picture with the building I indeed recognize as Bauhaus style.

Hello Ike,
I think it would be possible to walk down this street without noticing anything special, but your note draws my attention to the fine details of some of the buildings. Sometimes you really have to be on a full alert to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. It always pays to look up, not just looking at things at street level.

Hi Ike,
I have a feeling I have seen this place already. Did you show it before?
Well if there are 4000 similar buildings in the city I may also confuse it with another place :)
Nevertheless an interesting street scene, great daily life reportage,
it looks quiet different to what I am used to. (Northeast where I live now is not very populated so I feel as if I was living in a countryside).

Hello Ike,
an interesting view of an old urban street with a new background. Although the buildings look neglected, their Bauhaus features are clear and it's intriguing to see that the new buildings in the distance have kept some characteristics of this style. I like the contrasts, that make the whole and the particular areas more interesting. The light, the shadows and the colours remind me of Athens in this case too. Congratulations and thank you!

Hi Ike,

The zebra crossing reminds me of the old Beatles Abbey Road album cover, minus the band of course. The street provides strong lead in lines. Good sharpness and the green palm tree adds a welcome splash of colour. Tfs!

Hello Ike,

These buildings looks a bit similar like the villas in some streets in my district. Probably built in the same time. Photographers use all opportunity to make picture, even just waiting for the bus :). And it must be nice to find such shadowy street during the hot day.
Weimar is famous for Bauhaus, there are some fine examples there.

this "Bauhaus" style is well known in Athens too and someone can see a lot of them in the neighborhoods around Omonia square.A good reportage shot from Idelson street in Tel-Aviv.

always good to see different parts of the city, something new for us to explore from afar.

this part of town looks to be in kinda rough shape doesn't it?
the buildings need to be worked on a bit to make them look prettier :)

interesting to see how the city planners used basically the same theme and motif all the way through.
