A scanned print from a trip to the Jordan-Vally-Desert,
in the vicinity of Jericho, we came to this water-pooling, and saw this small herd drinking, a very good quality of spring-water.

dear Ike,
clear spring water is splendid,
it is really cool "oasis" in this wild desert,
cattle look so thirsty and being absorbed in drinking,
scanning is very nice to express fine colors and details,
(most dark part is a little too black)
and your composition looks natural and unique,
the texture of back rough rocks are nice to contrasted well with fore clear water,

Hi Ike,

Another very good shot. I like the limited number of shades and the clarity of the water. If it were me though I would have centred the goats and eleminate the triangle on the top left corner at the same time.

Such an oasis it must be a miracle for the thirsty wanderer.
For animals too great a delicacy.
An interesting photo showing a fairly wild place in a nice way.

Hello Ike,

The goats drinking water, reminds me of the story the wolf and the goat.Nice oasis in the desert to cool off Ike. In my opinion, water is the best drink. These goats must be very thirsty. I like the way they putting their mouths into the water. Nice soft colors and pretty good sharpness for a scanned photo.

I am delighted to find this in your random photos. I had never really seen an oasis before, apart from films maybe. I find it amazing how one can find water like that in the middle of the desert. Thank you very much for the two photos, with the WS showing the meagre vegetation.

Fine report of the oasis; those animals must had travel a lot to "quench" thier thirst with fresh water.
Nothing to eat seen in the vicinity and probably that's why they appear so thin.

Hello Ike,
It was a good quality print that you scanned from, it is almost impossible to tell the photo was not originally digital. It is a fascinating view of the desert, without any hint of vegetation, even close to the water.
Can you travel around Jericho safely these days?

A superb daily life scene of the thirsty goats with nice symmetrical reflections in the water. Good sharpness and well framed and composed. The arid bare bg devoid of grass is a striking contrast. Tfs!
