Photographer's Note

A wider view of Jerusalem from the Haas Promenade. This panoramic viewpoint offers an overwhelming sight of "Peace forest" on the foreground, the east part of Jerusalem, with the Old City and Old-Walls, including Mount Zion domes and towers, the Temple Mount, City of David, Kidron valley and Mount of Olives (on far right).
To the left, is the modern Jerusalem, first built out-of the old town walls in the mid 19th century.
The promenade is on a high point, near the UN today's headquarters, that was the residence and office of the High Commissioner during the British Mandate.

Hello Ike,

very interesting! I never thought that Jerusalem has so green spots. So I've again learned something new ... and realize that I should travel more.

But fortunately there is also TrekEarth for such gaps. If the necessary money for traveling is missing. :-)

A beautiful, clear picture that illuminates a bit the darkness of my lack of knowledge about places.

An elevated view point showing the skyline of the historic city brightly exposed and pleasant clarity with enough interest around. Clusters of white buildings on the slopes grab our attention firmly as strong colour breaker creating a point of focus bounded by rich colours. Lovely to view on how the abundant of lively green lungs have actually soothed and balanced the whole image superbly. I think you nailed the shot delightfully, Congrats.

Hi Ike,

Somehow this one slipped past me, which is a pity that I missed it until now!? What a wonderful, wide open view over the landscape, and a even greater idea of its sprawl. Neat to see from this perspective how the foreground slowly incorporates itself into the city spanning the horizon. The Peace Forest is greatly needed right now, and this view surely conveys a calming sentiment, if only for a brief moment in picture. And of course, the bounty of green and blue coloring is always a pleasing combination. :) Enjoy the new day. Take good care.
