Photographer's Note

A view of the Tolerance Monument and the surrounding garden atop a small hill, which located near the headquarters compound of the UN, in Jerusalem.
Another modern and new monument recently mounted, designed as two halves of a culumn with an Olive-tree branch, symbol of peace, built by the Polish sculptor Czesław Dźwigaj.

This piece of art appears quite significant in those days of disagreement and in my opinion a replica should be installed in Gaza!
Your picture looks better than on Wikipedia because of the green natural framing in the sky!

Hi Ike,

The namesake alone could sure be applicable in many worldwide situations about now, yeah? Although the monument is a bit distant in this composition, I like how you've presented it by using the curved walkway to lead the viewer right towards the work itself. Without any close surroundings, it stands alone and proud, making for a strong focal point in an otherwise minimal setting. Enjoy the new day. All the best.

Quite a monument Ike, and a very informative narrative too, brilliant detail, deep colours and what a good job you've done fitting it into the frame with good foreground to complement. The deep sky is just perfect bg to a poignant and compelling image with lovely bits of tree branches nicely filling the negative space on both sides..

The monument doesn't look very attractive to me but it's surely intriguing, asking to be analyzed and interpreted. The strong light and the contrasts create a minimal/graphical impression. A simple but powerful and expressive sculpture. Good upward pov to the top of the small mound and excellent sharpness. The tree branches add depth and layering, add borders and partly frame the scene. Tfs!
