Ciao Ike
interessante inquadratura, hai preso due serie di mura su due piani diversi.
Ottima composizione, la torre è piacevolmente decentrata e si gode di un bel panorama.
Bel controllo della luce, non facile in questo caso.
Saluti

Hello Ike,
Although not taken in ideal lighting conditions, we get a very good view of Mount Zion.
The alternation of lighter and darker spots (rocks and greenery) makes a pretty sight.
Good composition in different horizontal layers.
Best regards, Paul

a nice view of the famous town. I liked the use of the ramparts in the foreground and these details of the church and the gardens. despite its fame this town hasn't so much "tourist icons" in our mind like many others. TFS.

Hello Ike,
this is a very interesting view, the lighting conditions at the moment of the capture were not so favourable and the shady area, along with the absence of many modern elements, makes the view look suggestive and timeless. A very good idea to use the pattern in the foreground as a border that adds reference. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,

Hello Ike,
I like the panoramic frame and the layered effect. The Basilica on top of the hill placed slightly off-centre makes a fine focal point. The crenellations of the city wall make an interesting frame and introduce a touch of graphism.

Hello Ike,
The castle is helping to frame the fortress. The point of view is allowing me to see the details and colors of the architecture. Everything is so calm and clear.

Hi Ike
Wonderful city skyline seen from an elevated viewpoint with the eye popping basilica positioned at the third as strong focal point. There's lot more interesting features around to complement, good contrasting colours between blue and lush greenery, and you have done well with exposure for it does look pleasantly balanced throughout and your camera works is spot on, Congrats. TFS

Hi Ike,
The distance between the wall and the basilica is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. A good managememnt of the light which does not hurt the ouput of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
I will let a higher authority than me critique this:
"Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King." (Ps. 48:8, NIV)

Hello Ike
Given the excellent depiction deprived of modern artifacts, I have the impression of a voyage back in the time machine for a pilgrimage to 'The city of the living G-d'.

Interesting view of Mt. Zion from the Yemin-Moshe quarter. with castle walls at the top left, then the church towers rising in the distant horizon, with the slope covered in green landscaping.

Hi Ike,
A beautiful view in its own regard, but the inclusion of the foreground rampart with it's "checkered" pattern makes it all the more interesting. The deep green colors and blue sky work in harmony, bringing together land and sky to compliment the beautiful Mount Zion and the basilica that sits atop. Clear and concise, and for a relatively minimal scene, you've put together a very nice arrangement of subjects. Enjoy the new week. All the best.
Friendly wishes,
Jason

Hello Ike,
Seeing your title was exciting, like turning back the clock, to Biblical Times, for that is my reference with Mount Zion.
The inclusion of the f/g wall not only sets the scene but makes a very important link across the scene to the distant castellated wall.
This is a strong contrast with some of your other photographs of Jerusalem. Here, there is no evidence of skyscrapers, giving a quieter, more serene atmosphere.
All the best for the new week,
Bev :-)

Hi Ike
I would imagine there are alot of hot sunny days like this in Isreal? :)
is this the norm?
looks like a not-so-good day to be taking photos, but what can you do?
then again, here in the Vancouver region we get so much rain and overcast skies...
lots of history here i would figure, this post and your newest post with the Olive branch/tree monument are a good combo together.
thanks for this one
cheers

Hi Ike,
I like the wide angled, panoramic format. Good sharpness, colour, saturation and density levels. The indented patterns in the fg wall nicely frame the bg. The basilica on the horizon makes a fine focal point. The red roof at left contrasts well against the blue sky. Tfs!
