Photographer's Note
Another view of Jerusalem from the Haas Promenade. This panoramic viewpoint offers an overwhelming sight of the east part of Jerusalem, with the Old City and Old-Walls, including Mount Zion domes and towers the Temple Mount,
To the upper left, is the modern Jerusalem, first built out-of the old town walls in the mid 19th century.
The barren-land trough area between the Old-city walls, just south to the Dormizione basilica and the Abu-Tor houses, where the small green grove, is the "Gehanna": The valley of Hinnom, traditionally known in folklor - a free translation to English as "Hell" (read the Wikipedia page about), on the map: 31.7705, 35.228 . Superstitiously, almost no-one is taking a walk down there...
It was a 25˚C and light wind on a bright day, -1/3 exp. Bias, a cropped 16:9 aspect ratio.

Hello Ike,
the view is comprehensive and interesting, you considered well the layout of your presentation and ensured great sharpness and clarity although the light did not come from a favourable angle. After reading your note, the barren piece of land became more attractive, it's intriguing to see how the old superstition borders the modern city. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Ourania

Hi Ike,
The wideness of the city is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. The good luminosity is giving nice tints to the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
Indeed it is a great POV and you took good profit of it to get a great photo, very nicely composed. Maybe there is "much" sky, you aren't respecting the "rule of the thirds"; many people find that putting the horizon on the middle of the image makes it dull, which IMO doesn't happen here, or at least it isn't obvious, but have you tried another crop, putting the horizon higher and maybe also cutting a bit on the left to decenter more those towers in the middle?
TFS, regards, José.

Hi Ike,
Good to be back on TE and see another pleasant view of the cityscape and hillside, and a fine note detailing the layout. The white color really stands out under the bright sun, but it acts as a nice contrast to the other subdued tones mixed in between. If I hadn't mentioned on your previous views from here, this is a perfectly suited scene for the panoramic format. Sharp, clear and well layed out...in all regards. :) Have a great day.
Friendly wishes,
Jason

Hi Ike
A strong image of the city scape with so much history ...
Very interesting narrative supported by a perfectly composed shot captured from what appears to be the ideal point of view. The neat white apartment blocks harmoniously blends as effective base into the environment while the three towers and dome click the eye as strong focal points which give a great sense of scale. Details are subtle including the blue sky
and the green lungs which lend bit of punch lifting the colours and contrast to give it more zing. This is a good and appealing photograph thoughtfully shot. Congrats and tfs.
Best regards

Hi Ike
you say 'another view of Jerusalem'
thats just fine for me!
and i'm sure its fine with everyone else in the TE world too.
from a city-building point of view only, i really dislike how cities build their infrastucture like this...all the buildings are exactly the same. white blocks after white blocks after white blocks after white blocks after white blocks...I think you get the point.
where is the creativity from the architects and city planners? maybe its just me, i don't know...maybe it has to do with history or something i'm not aware of.
from the photo itself as a photo, i love it.
city views are my favorite, and this is a fine overview.
so please don't take it at all personal how i dislike the style of architecture, thats not you're actions!! :)
thanks for this one
cheers

Hi Ike,
I did not know that Gehenna derives from a real physical place. That is so funny!
Fantastic viewpoint indeed. It is quite spectacular.
Such views are however very difficult to present in a way which would give them a justice as everything is far away. I have experienced it many times. I remember for example going to the famous Twin Peaks POV in San Francisco -same thing everything was so far away. It is more impressive to see in person.
Here we can still spot some interesting pieces of architecture which give it nice character.
very well done,
M

I like the wide angled panoramic format. Good sharpness and a nice contrast in architectural styles between the fg and the horizon. Well composed using the rule of thirds with the horizon line well positioned away from the centre. Tfs!
